The owner of Russian Banys is conducting his business by lying, cheating and scamming people. Go there only if you want know BAD services.
"Owner is The King" - You are - "0"! Give me your Money!.
That was my first & last visit to this "Banya" - would never go there again, even if you pay me to!
The owner Anatoly( who is front desk clerk , and who is steamer man also, and who is a big Boss of all your liberty and your time) is a control freak with no manners. Very little knowledge about Banya business.
I've been in The Best Russian Banyas in the past in Moscow & St. Petersburg before on regular basis like almost every two-three weeks.
Restaurant food is good and stuff are friendly. You will ejoy massage with Jacob as well. That is the only good part acceptable about "Russian Banya".
Don't forget to bring enough big money to pay for every little thing.
Owner is always right.
Owner is always right. Part 2.
We came back to the banya month later to redeem our “Living social” coupons; we have 5 of them left. Owner was pissed at the review below and refused to let us in, we called the cops, and they confirm that the owner can refuse service to anyone, even if the fee was already paid…..the saga continues, OWNER IS ALWAYS RIGHT, Customer BEWARE!
Steam room (banya)
I have been loyal customer since the day this place opened and watched it going down, I think it’s pretty close to hitting the rock bottom. I’m not sure why it’s still in business; there are very few customers left and the hard core loyalist going there for the one and only authentic Russian steam room. Unfortunately there is no completion in the DFW area; Korean Spa is great, but it is different.
For $25.00 + tax you used to get a robe, 2 towels and flip flops and use the facility from 10AM to 10PM … forget about it, for the same price you get one towel and flip flops and be at the owner’s mercy because he may decide to close the place down earlier than official closing time of 10PM any time he feels like it, no apologies, no concessions. Women’s showers do not work properly, you can either scold yourself or freeze to death. Service is marginal at best.
It’s such a disappointment, because this place had potential and could’ve been a cultural ambassador for Russian culture, like the King Spa for Korean, instead it’s such a disgrace and it’s not going to get better. So I plead to anyone who is willing to listen … open another Russian banya here and you going to have plenty of customers and long as you’re not going to do what this establishment does.
This place is a joke!!!!! my sister and i went there today for the first time after getting a deal on groupon. the deal said we could either print out the coupon or they could scan it electronically. when we got there the guys at the front counter said we have to have the printed version. i informed him the deal said we could us the electronic version or the printed. he then got the owner (bald with a long goatee with tattoos on his arms)...who prior to meeting him was an a**. he was walking around on the phone, when one of his employees called out his name and he yelled, "don't you see i'm on the phone!!!!" after getting off the phone he approached us and informed us he would not accept the electronic copy and we would have to go print out the paper version somewhere then he would honor the groupon, if we didn't want to print it out then he would charges us $10.00 (cash) ea and we could use the groupon at another time. we informed him, we got the groupon to see if we would like it and asked what if we didn't like it, he said, "that was our problem not his". i informed him the deal did not state that. i informed him i lived 20 miles away and asked him if we could email the groupon to him, he said, "no" my printer is not working and i need the paper copy, 20 mins is no big deal, i live a hour and a half away". if i decided to go home and print the coupon, i would have wasted 60 minutes just driving back and fourth...what an idiot!!!!!
then the starting saying this was my fault and i was the first to ever complain about not being able to accept the electronic version and i had bad attitude because i didn't have the printed version....this place is the most unprofessional and unethical place i've have ever came across...my theory is if i owned a business and was using groupon to advertise my business to get people in the door...don't run your business half a** and do what you can to make the first impression a great experience, so we will keep coming and tell our friends to come...word of advise: these people are scam artist and try to do things half a** to get your money with poor customer services"
Russian Banya Best Way Ever to Spend a Day.
The Russian Bana is one of the best ways I can think of to spend a day with friends. I have been there twice now with small groups and had a great experience. You will learn quickly that the owner, Tony, and staff will teach you what you need to know to get the most out of the Banya experience. The facility is homey and it seems the goal of the place and staff is to make you feel part of it.
After a few rounds of the Russian sauna, and a dip or two in the cold pool, you feel incredible. Staff are quick to bring iced water to you after each round, you can sit on the patio and take a break, and best of all, there is no rush. You can stay as long as you like, no pressure, just relaxation. Perhaps the best part is after getting totally relaxed, you can order some of the heartiest and best tasting authentic Russian food ever. I recommend you head out as soon as possible, get to the Bana, and take advantage of this incredible cultural experience.
THE BANYA ROCKS!.
I went to the Banya for their New Year's Eve Party and was not sure what to expect. After all, I'm an Irish Catholic and wasn't sure I'd fit in. However, I had the absolute time of my life. The Banya is unlike any place I've ever been before, fit with a spacious dining room, a lounge area with a pool table and state-of-the-art spa/sauna facilities. I'm no expert on the matter, but I'd say this place is as good as it gets if you're looking for a good steam; and after relaxing in their variety of spas (Turkish, Finnish, Russian), you can head over to the dining room for a wonderful selection of traditional Russian cuisine. Those that work there absolutely know what they're doing, and were very accommodating for someone like me who was way out of his element. I've moved to Philadelphia since attending the Banya, but I'd absolutely consider flying down in December to attend their New Years Eve bash again...truly legendary! It's a place that people of all cultures can enjoy, and it opened my eyes to a new group of people and their customs, which I think was my favorite part about going there.
Bravo, BANYA, bravo!
What a disappointment! I went last Saturday for the first time and I'm sure it will be my last. I'm glad I had a coupon and only paid $10.00 instead of the $25 that they normally charge.
I must clarify that I'm reviewing the sauna and not the restaurant. They advertise 17,000 sq. feet of space and don't really show it. They only had 2 of the saunas working, the 3rd one was shut down for repairs. The place was in poor conditions, dirty, broken chairs, etc. The bathrobe and flip-flops are shabby and they gave me just one towel. The showers had the shampoo dispensers broken or empty in some cases. The cleaning guy walked by while I was showering, which made me feel very uncomfortable. I definitely wouldn't recommend this place for a real sauna/spa experience.
LOVED this restaurant.
The Russian Banya is one of the best restaurants I've ever been to. I attended their New Years bash, which had excellent food and amazing entertainment. A wide variety of authentic Russian food was placed before us while beautiful singing and dancing were performed.
The staff is extremely nice and hospitable. They will go out of their way to assist you with any need. As someone with a restricted diet, it is exceedingly difficult to find restaurants that are willing to cater to my needs. The Banya, however, made a great effort to ensure I was able to get a good meal. Even more importantly, they did it happily and were remarkably kind.
The building itself is gorgeous. As soon as you walk in, you become immersed in a handsome traditional Russian atmosphere. Every detail was put together so flawlessly, that it really creates a soothing experience. I love the Banya because it provides an ambiance that is an impressive blend of authentic Russian and homey welcoming, which allows for a unique and relaxing experience. The Russian Banya is an exceptional oasis from the rush of Dallas, where you can unwind and enjoy amazing food. I definitely plan on returning, and will recommend it to all my friends and family.
Amazing food, amazing service.
I absolutely LOVE the Russian Banya! So far I've been several times and have attended the last two New Years bashes. I always have an incredible time when I'm there.
The food is always amazing and the presentation is impeccable. We had a variety of traditional Russian dishes, a beautiful salad, smoked meats and fishes, and basically every sort of pastry you could imagine. The facilities are pristine, and the staff is warm and helpful. You can really tell that they take pride in the services they provide and want to make their patrons happy and comfortable. I seriously cannot think of another place that I would rather unwind after a long work week.
However, my favorite thing about the Banya, and why I'll continue to go back, is that it offers something that is difficult to find in Dallas: a cultural experience that is completely authentic, but at the same time, open and inviting to people from any background.
If you're in the mood for an off-the-beaten-path, indulgent, relaxing experience, do yourself a favor and visit the Banya!
Best Place EVER.
If you want the most AMAZING traditional Russian food, this is the ONLY place in Dallas to go to! The food is AMAZING and for a very reasonable price.
This is an awesome and intimate family business that has both a wonderful cafe and spa, not to mention a pool table. The atmosphere is very laid back which makes it easier to relax as should be in a spa. The spa facilities are very professional and quite interesting, as there as several different sauna rooms. I was taken on a tour of the spa and was provided with detailed information about what the spa provides.
This is definitely a place where you will have a good and relaxing time. If you need a day of relaxation and amazing food, then check out the Russian Banya of Dallas!!!!!
