The Scene – Chefs broadcasted on a wall and oversized kitschy pictures of Julia Child set the scene at this open concept design blending the lounge, bar and dining into a view from every angle. Soothing blue hues and flowing sheer curtains complement the eye candy. Diner style booths overlook downtown activity and connect the main bar to more intimate tables. – – The Food – A lavender soda with lavender garnish is a smooth introduction to the eclectic and refined a la carte, chef's tasting or pre-theater prix fixe menus. A popular item with residual flavor and affect…

CLOSED

by gigilou

I think this restaurant just closed last week. I hope so. It was not a fine dining restaurant. It might have been at one point but definitely was not anymore. The menu that was listed online was VERY different from the actual menu in the restaurant. Bartender charged $12 or $14 for Ketel One and soda while our speciality martinis and drinks were only $9. The scallops were great but everything else was mediocre. The space would be better suited as a night club.

  • Pros: not much
  • Cons: Parking, messed up bar charges

Great look...thats about it.

Not a great place to be "seen." I've never actually seen a good crowd there to tell you the truth. The risotto I had once was tasty. The Burger was very messy. The fries are like potato chips. They could definately do a menu change. The service was pretty slow at sometimes. But....I can't remember one waiter's name (he was from Waco originally?) and he was great! Scene just looks pretty.

  • Pros: Good look.
  • Cons: Bad most else.

You get in and the veiw is incredible, a great mix of gay and straight people! Loved it, sat down at the counter, thought, Wow, this is going pretty good so far. I asked for tea &before I could ask for sweetner, she was gone! Not for a couple minutes, 20 minutes! She gets back didnt ask for the order only "Is everything okay?" My eyes got big and I said, "uh, can I have a sweetner" She said "Sure"...10 minutes! She brought this really cool plate with coarse sugar cubes...brown , white and Splenda. The white sugar had a freakin lemon seed in it! I was getting sick, it was going down hill & fast. Then she was gone, another 10 minutes. When she took our order, one of the items was not available, so the next best thing, tough little steak bites with Mac & Cheese(flat iron steak), floating in the juices(red juices) of the steak, tough steak pieces. The risotto was pretty good. I had such high expectations for this place and they were shot down by some chubby chick who was trying to do 10 things at once and not really doing it! One plate was good, the other was really kinda hard to look at. It really was noodles floating in bl**d and the steak was tough too. I arrived at this place at 11.45! I didnt leave there util 1.32pm! I usually go to a place twice to make sure its pretty bad but this one, really did it for me the first time. Great little "hang out" if you're one of those trendy gay guys that have money just to throw around to impress other gay men and the tolerating straights. For the most part, it just wasnt a good lunch. If you dont have any where to be, Scene will be the perfect place to jack around for two hours on average food and terrible service. Hope the owners little friends have a look-i-loo at this and report this to him!

  • Pros: Great view, trendy, pretty people
  • Cons: Very slow service, Average food
