Editorial Review for Rise n1 – by Sabra Girard
The Scene
A red wall library of classics, poetry and cookbooks introduce guests to an intimate dining area lit by a lantern of recycled wine bottles. Tables are dressed with eclectic flatware and embroidered linens from the farmhouses and maisons of France. Plates shaped as color palettes, are made of recycled beach glass. Birch branches enclose a semi-private dining area with a converted school desk from the 18th century with ink wells serving as flower vases. All guests receive a note with a poignant quote before departure.
The Food
Cooked to fluffy perfection, dinner souffles are the main attraction with options such as truffle infused wild mushroom and jambon and gruyere. Brie and cornichon baguette, steak and French onion soup are also menu picks. Wine flights complement the cuisine and grant a saucy excuse for a long romantic lunch. Savor a chocolate or cassis souffle with one of their poem books for a poetic ending.
Hits: Ambiance is literally imported from the chateaux, manoirs and farmhouses of Southwest France which grants and authentic bistro experience.
Misses: Intimate tables allow you to become familiar with your guest but not without the distraction of the surrounding conversations.
