We recently moved here from California and boy was I happily surprised!!

McKinney is a charming and lovely town with wonderful people, but I thought we would be sacrificing family owned fabulous restaurant experiences and it has been quite the opposite!

This bistro rivals any food experience we have had in many years and many travels across the states and the globe......

We started with a duck confit that was melt in my mouth!! I then ordered a Texas Kobe Beef Ribeye that was a feature that evening and it was divine! My husband had a chilean sea bass and we shared the mussells appetizer.....fresh, fresh, fresh!

The first time we went they had a tuna feature that is now on their menu.....heavenly!!

They are BYOB, which means I can bring in any of my favorite wines and my husband his beer to enjoy with our meal

The staff is warm, friendly and professional!

We were able to visit with Gregory and Lydia, the owners both times we were there....wonderful, down to earth and talented!

Please check out this little jewel in downtown, you won't be disappointed!!

Very Very Dissapointing – We had been told this was a good place to dine and most dishes were well prepared. We ere seated quickly and ordered quickly as well. They opened our wine (byob) and we started with a farm salad (good) and escargot (also good). The entrees arrived and my wife enjoyed her seabass although it was a minute or two too long in the oven. It is her favorite and she has had it coast to coast many mnay times. She said it was OK. My 16 oz. ribeye was cooked perfectly but was grainy, no juiciness and little flavor. I had 3 bites and sent it back. They wanted me to order something else but by that time I was dissapointed and we turned to dessert. It was a wonderful bread pudding.

Here's where the problem began. The chef's wife brought the bill and said they had comped the dessert and the wife's coffee. The steak ($34) was still on the bill!!! Never have I had this happen. Heck Red lobster would take it off! The chef then came out and I explained again the problem with the meat. It must have been his supplier. This was not prime nor even choice. I have had a few steaks in my 50+ years. Well he got his frenchies in a wad and stormed off. I said fine bring me the check. Then I felt badly for my waiter and called him over to explain the tip. I was going to leave nothing but it was not his fault the owners know nothing about taking care of the customer. I told him I was leaving $10 and about that time the wife of the chef rushed over to hear what was going on and said "I hope you are happy and will come back". Really? Really? No we won't and we WILL tell all our friends including those that recommended this place.

OK food, well prepared and no sense of accommodation here. Save your money! Go elsewhere!

Really Bad Form... – I flew in from Seattle, WA and our itinerary (that I received over two months ago) was set to have my Grandparents 65th Anniversary / Family Reunion at Gregory's. The owners wife called my aunt the day before and canceled on us.

To treat a group of customers that booked a family reunion with such lack of respect is not how to run a business!

Instead of spending my first day with my family I have not seen in 3 years, we all had to scramble to find another location to hold our dinner plans.

No wonder it closed the fist time!

never, ever book this place !!!!! as of 4/29/2011 – My wife has worked with this place since before

Christmas to arrange a family reunion dinner at 5PM on Saturday, to make it easy on the restaurant. This included numerous phone calls, leaving messages, to confirm the reservation. Today we received a call they had booked other groups and we would not be served. The sudden lack of a reservation is bad enough, but the arrogant manner in which the owner's wife approached my wife frankly p_____ me off. This place does not deserve your patronage.

Do not ever go to Gregory's in McKinney – My sister booked a dinner for our family to celebrate our parents' 65th Wedding Anniversary over four months ago. After many conversations and changing the time to as early as 5:00 p.m. to accommodate the restaurant, we received a phone call a day before saying our reservation was given away. My family flew in from as far as Seattle, Washington to celebrate this special day and to attend this dinner. To say the least this was very unprofessional and RUDE!!!! Please do not patronize this restaurant!!!!!

New name – This is one of my favorite places! I thought it was still closed ( the website says it is) but just found out from friends there is a new website and its re-opened with all my old favorites! Yes, for you fellow fans, I'm talking about the sea bass. Chef Gregory is still in the kitchen! It is BYOB but theres a little wine shop just close to Gregory's so it's easy. Old number is disconnected, too. its now

Plano's Best Restaurant – Although Plano has many excellent restaurants, Gregory's stands out. The small, unassuming establishment in old Downtown has a very good menu, but the real surprise is when you order the Chef's Selection. We had a party of six, five of whom ordered the Chef's three-course menu (four and five are also available)--I was the hold out, ordering ala carte--I am wary of fish, though the fish dishes are very tasty; I have had them. Fish first, two different fish each prepared with a different sauce, which encouraged sharing, though I am not sure anyone was willing. Second, different meat entrees, for each. Different manner of preparation and presentation for each. Finally, deserts, different all around. Everyone was very satisfied with their meal, enjoying the food and the surprise.

We ordered drinks and wine, but on other occasions my wife and I have ordered with the wine pairings, which are very good--definitely takes the stress from making a selection and provides a different wine with each course. Very nice!

Although not a "family" restaurant, it is a good experience for older children or teens. The setting is adult but not stuffy, which means lots of glasses, forks, and spoons, but no one gets excited if you use the wrong one. The portions are such that you can eat all of each course, enjoy it, and not immediately need a nap after the meal.

Reservations are always a good idea, but we generally just show up and do not need to wait. If you want a very pleasant celebratory meal or just want to treat yourself to something apart from typical restaurant fare, try Gregory's.

One of the best places to eat in Plano! – I am originally from southern Louisiana, Lafayette to be specific. I had Friday off with my girlfriend and mother. After getting my haircut at the barber shop across the street (Plano Barbers) we decided to look for a place to eat. My girlfriend saw this place, and I thought it was a little too nice for flip-flops and shorts. However, the gentleman at the front door came out and invited us inside. They were very nice and accommodating. My girlfriend and mother ordered the chicken salads and had no complaints. I decided to go for the special, which was the ribeye. I will tell you that this was absolutely the BEST damn steak I've had in a long time. It was glazed with honey and topped off with balsamic, very delicious... The chef is from France and speaks French. I have been to Paris twice and will tell you that this is the real deal Plano, TX. Check it out when you have time. The Mojitos were awesome! Thank you Gregory for your service! We also received a free round of drinks on the house. I will definitely return! :) We paid around $67 for all three of us at lunch, not bad considering we ordered drinks too. This is not a family restaurant, but more of a date spot or place to go with older friends and family. Oh and they have a very nice upstairs outdoor patio sectioned off by old wooden french double doors. No need for suit or tie, and it's casual... Jeans and a nice shirt at night would do I'd think.

Great Food – There were four people in our party. Each person loved every course from the cheese plate right through dessert and coffee. Our waiter was great and the restaurant is very nice and very clean. We will definitely be back.

An experienced restaurateur showcases his Quaint French bistro in Historic downtown Plano. – In Short
In the heart of Plano's historic district awaits an unassuming French fusion ambiance with a receptive staff. Lunch and dinner is populated by lasting lovers or powerful businessmen all satisfied with their choice of venue. The Pan seared sea bass is the catch of the appetizer menu served with beef steak tomato and basil pesto. Entrees range from roasted duck to a duo of venison, all prepared with elegance. Indulge just enough for dessert to impress.

Hit: Chef Gregory Moreaux is particular about his ingredients; respected local and international vendors are hand picked.

Miss: The dining room is somewhat short on space for all those who want to enjoy the well known chef's creations.
