32.809262 -96.808735Will revisit!. Coming from an Indian-American, good Indian food is hard to find. I love Bengal's though!
Amazing!.
I took someone here that does not eat "Indian" food. In fact, she doesn't eat much of anything -extremely picky. We both absolutely loved it. The sampler was a good way to determine which sauce we wanted. It was all amazing. I had the Bangkok Fire with Veges & Paneer. My friend orders the Chicken Samosas. Next time I have to bring more people so we can all order something different to sample it all! Don't forget to have a Leechy Basil Mojito!
The staff was friendly and helpful. Our waiter was courteous, efficient and generally a pleasure. When we got the bill, I wanted to send it back & tell them "this is not enough!" The decor was beautiful, seating was very comfortable, the noise level was perfect.
I can't wait to come back. I just want to know one thing? Are you guys moving to Houston, or am I going to have to move to Dallas?!!!
Great intro to Indian food - pls. come to my neighborhood!. I am still dreaming of the tastes... subtle, unfolding...oh my! Our waiter, Ryan, ordered us a sampler so delicious we could have stopped there. Then he customized our orders to perfection. To me it was a magical intro. to a new cuisine, served up in the nicest way to please Americans. To those in our party familiar with Indian fare, it also got rave reviews. Did I mention how elegantly comfortable Bengal Coast is? Dramatically lit with warm orange decor. And very reasonably priced...I may just have to return to Dallas until it expands to the East Coast!
Fusion Food good for Soul and very good for Dallas residents. Having travelled to LA, NY, Chicago, Boston etc, in USA, all over India and many parts of world including Europe, and South Asia, I was looking for a place to eat in 75207 and found Bengal Coast. Without looking into their site or menu, just called got directions and went in. I was pleasnatly surprised with variety of drinks, sumptous and complimenting appertizers and good main dish that can be ordered in different ways. Menu was good, service was great. Only mixup was that I got white rice although I had ordered brown and should not have Italian Teramisu on waiters recommendation, should have stuck with Indian dish. Over all decor, food quality, service and ambiance will make me go back there again and again. I have to try other items on the menu including some of things that Chef came out and told me about.
Best fried rice, ever!. I ordered something weird, because I like to explore different tastes. So we went for luch and my husband had the fried rice. Since we share most of the time anyway, I almost took his plate from him. . It was really, really good. The bathrooms were really weird, the stalls are just little rooms and you walk out into a main sink that everyone shares. . I'm a liberal, but there was something that felt really weird about this.. Either way, the rice made up for it. . . Thanks for a great lunch!
My new Dallas favorite. Bengal Coast is so much more than your strip mall Indian buffet. (Not that I mind strip mall Indian) but the quality of ingredients as well as the skilled preperation here elevates this from your typical pan-asian concept restaurant to something really special. We had the Panang beef curry which was surprisingly un-saucy but flavorful, with tender pieces of sirloin tucked into a lightly spiced pilaf. The Green Tea martinis are wicked, but delicious as well. Atmosphere is divine-Service is on point. I will definitely eat here again.
Avoid, esp if you dislike voluminous quantities of chickpea or garbanzo beans in your food.
Except for the samosa, everything was disappointingly bland, and filled with garbanzo beans. The paneer was definitely two or three days old, and the sauce used in a couple of the entrees had a distinct flavor of having been saved overnight in the refrigerator and then used the next day and then saved overnight again and used again and again until it rant out - my point is: the food did not taste like it was made from fresh ingreditents. The bombay chaat salad was filled with stale rice puffs and again loaded with chick peas. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.
Positive: The waiter was very polite, service was as fast as kitchen could keep up, and ambience is very good. You feel good as soon as you enter the restaurant - brightly lit, good decor, a banana tree in the middle of a courtyard-style dining room.
Still great the day after. Wonderful! I have never had the opportunity to eat Indian food. My friend took me there for lunch. We enjoyed the Indian version of lettuce wraps. They were delicious and not too spicy. My entree was two kabobs filled with grilled chicken rolled in a cream cheese sauce. There was rice and tempura vegetables with some special Indian spices. Everything had such great flavor. The portions were huge. I had leftovers today at work. Several of my co-workers were dying to know where I had gone to lunch. Needless to say, I will go back. I'm anxious to try something else on their menu.
Absolutely the coolest new restaurant concept in Dallas!. We were looking for something new to try and someone had mentioned this new place in the Centrum that was supposed to be different and tasty. The valet stand is in the back of the Centrum, on Welborn, so very easy to get in and out. We didn't realize it was right next to the Club so went there first for a drink on the patio then across the way to Bengal for food. I'm not much of a big meal eater so usually go for the appetizer portions on any menu - I was in heaven! I love Samosa's, having a middle eastern sister in law, so was loving the spices and the texture, flavors, everything, definitely do the combo plate. I pretty well covered the app menu with the Samosas, Small Sticks and Lettuce Boats - I suggested to the waitress doing a "sampler platter" if that wasn't too "Americanized" for this place. My fiancee is a big meat eater so had the Beef Penang Curry - not to mention eating most of my small sticks. We thought everything was amazing - flavors, presentation, portion size, surroundings - very cool place! Mark, the owner even came by the table to see how we were doing. Big smile, can tell he loves what he's doing and obviously knows how to do it well. We will definitely be back.
