I have been a member for about a month and I am happy with the experience. I was very nervous at first, but everyone was so welcoming to me and made me feel comfortable. I actually went bungee jumping for the first time in my life last week and it was awesome! I can say that this has been one of the best decisions I've ever made. Im so excited for the New Years Eve party. Thank you E&A.
I joined this club about 3 months ago. From the get go I felt welcome and that the members at the local office were excited to be a part of the club. They answered all my questions about the club and helped me determine whether this was the right place for me to be or not. Since I joined, I've been to a little over a dozen events, have made a bunch of acquaintances and a couple good friends that I hang out with once or twice a week outside the club. I haven't met any special someone yet, but I'm having too much fun to really care about it. I'm so glad I decided to join, because now I have options every night of the week to choose if I want to do something or not.
I signed up for Events and Adventures thinking it would be fun to meet new people and find my soul mate. I tried to talk to them about prices over the phone and they told me I had to come into the office. So, I went into the office wanting to think about it and from the get go they pressured me to sign up that day, saying the price would go up after I left.
The young man that interviewed me was cute and my age. I asked him if there were lots of guys our age in the group, he told me there were and that none of them were in relationships (not true, nor do any of the guys in the club actually want a relationship. Why get involved? If you do you are losing money.) I asked if he attended and he said he went to almost every event, I have never seen this guy again.
So, I signed up, paying an abosorbant fee. I went to the event that very night and continued to go, hoping it would get better. I found that not only was almost every activity costing something but everyone was in their 40's or early 20's and drunk. There were mostly women and only a handful of guys.
So, recently I lost my job and I am moving out of the area, there are no events and adventures in my new area. Also, as I lost my job and will be taking a severe pay cut at my new location, I will not be able to afford it. As I told your representative, Wendy, it is either eat or pay for something I can’t even use.
Wendy told me that I cannot cancel without paying a absurd fee of $19,000. I have checked my contract, tried to add the details of the contract and and do not come anywhere near that amount. I also added up the amounts I have already paid $987.00 in fees alone, not counting events.
As I was treated very rudely by Wendy. My father spoke to her and she hung up on him. So as you imagine, I don’t come to the table very happy. My Dallas location representative didn’t find any problem with canceling my membership and just told me I needed to call headquarters to get it sorted out. When I did, Wendy made sure I knew that there was no way to cancel. This is not what I was told, in my original interview. When I asked my interviewer if I was to get into a relationship, or move for work, would I be allowed to cancel my membership. He informed me that I could freeze the account if needed and it wouldn’t be a problem. When I asked Wendy about this, she told me that “ No, we can’t freeze your account, but if you send me proof you lost your job, you don’t have to pay dues, but will need to pay $19,000. “( on a monthly schedule)
This is what they do, search it, my story is one of a thousand.
