NEVER AGAIN!!!. Ok let me say this, I was impressed when I walked in the door. It "looked" the part of an upscale resturant/club, so I just knew that I would be having a great night out with my girlfriends.....WRONG!!! Upon ordering & receiving my meal (I ordered a Medium Ribeye) it was well done (BURNT!) I then told my waitress that my steak was not what I ordered, she proceeded to say, "I mean I don't know what to tell you, they busy back there." I was STUNNED!!! Then she went M.I.A. for a least 30 minutes! I finally tracked down a manager and told her that my order was incorrect and my waitress was rude & beyond unprofessional. So she said that she would take care of it. She also said, "Dont worry about it, this is on me". The manager then brought me another steak that wasnt much different from the 1st, but I just said forget it since the manager wasnt charging me due to the horrible service that I received. By this time another 30 minutes pass & still no waitress. I track the manager down AGAIN so I could get my credit card back because we were running a tab. She sends my waitress back to me and I tell her that the manager was not charging me for my meal but to run only the drinks on my card. How bout she goes to get the manager who comes back to tell me,"Oh I wasn't charging you for the 1st steak, I'm charging you for the second." STUNNED!!!!! I guess the wait staff can be rude & unprofessional and it's perfectly fine with the management. I couldn't believe my ears!! Never again will I go back........EVER!…
The OME Comedy Tour.
Bad Reviews? Yes!!!!! Bad Service? Yes!!!! Poorly Managed? Yes! Yes! Yes! and Yes! A group of colleagues and myself went to see The OME Comedy Tour which was fantastic. We were greeted at the
door by someone apparently from the show which we found breathtaking. However when we reached our seats a light skinned gentleman with curly hair approached us and begin speaking to us with slurred speech and reeking of alcohol at first we thought nothing of it, we thought it was apart of the act however we discovered later, that very same gentleman was the manager, how unprofessional can you be....geez!!!!!!!! Once the show kicked off it boasted some talented comics especially the one legged comic he was great the others were good as well, but once the headliner OneMic Owens took the stage the lack of service, high priced drinks, and limited buffet which prompted us to order from the menu all seem to be irrelevant. My friends and I were in tears nearly rolling out our seats. I have read other reviews about this place a lot not so good, I believe OneMic Owens may have saved the day. So with this being my first official review post and first time in this club, I must say if I had to rate the following on a scale from 1 to 5 with 5 being the highest: Service - 2; Food - 2; Management - 1 Comedy Show - 5
OneMic Owens Legendary Performance - We will come and see you again but probably not Club 609 Harwood if they can't do better.
Thanks for reading my review: THE 5 STARS ARE NOT FOR CLUB 609 HARWOOD....THEY ARE FOR OneMic Owens so people don't get it twisted about the rating...…
Overpriced Buffet/Loud Music. I went here yesterday with my husband around 2 pm we heard about it so I wanted to check it out. I seen the bad reviews online but I wanted to judge it for myself. When we get there the cost to get in is 15 dollars even if you don't eat the buffet it's still 15 to get in. The buffet to me didn't have a good variety for the price your paying for it. The food that I did try tasted pretty good and the mix drinks were very strong, waitress we had was very nice. Also, the music was way too loud and me and my hubby couldn't have a conversation. I agree with the person on here saying that the buffet is on the dance floor and people are trying to dance right by it. The restrooms are digusting and the trash was over flowing. I guess the manager was the guy in the pin black/white suit he was too busy at the bar drinking instead of greeting the customers he was very unfriendly. I will not be going back here I was expecting it to be a laid back Jazz spot but they didn't play much jazz at all and the music is way too loud.…
You Name It - It Was Bad!!!. This was most horrendous dining experience I've had in a very long time. The service was terrible, the food was horrible and the atmosphere was too loud for 2 people to have a conversation. This all on a Sunday afternoon around 2pm. We had to pay before we were seated (WHAT!!), the server proceeded to spell her name for us as though we owed her money (REALLY!) and the worst yet was the food selection or should I say non-selection. Half of the steam trays were empty and were left that way with no attempt to refill them or remove them. The food was either unseasoned, uncooked (doughy peach cobbler), over cooked (sausage and meats) and no sides to speak off. So we 'tried to eat' because we had already paid meat and pie for $35. NEVER AGAIN!!!!…
The worst food. On the initial arrival of this venue, it looks like a really nice venue. I felt the valet parking needed a little work, they lack head count. However, the entry was pleasant and paired with a friendly hello by the hostess. The facility is large and spacious and the mood was just right for an evening of dining and dancing. I thought, this is for the grown and sophisticated. It’s urban and just what Dallas need for professional African American. After all, there aren’t a lot of black own upscale restaurants in the DFW area. And I’m making the assumption its black owned, that may be inaccurate. But I bet my money on it!!! Ok, here is where things fall way short. The DJ music was turned up way too loud, and when the band came on….the band leader song all night long. I was hoping for just some instrumental, but he was determined to make sure we heard his vocals no matter what. He wasn’t that good either. It was a drag. Folks, when the food came out I was shocked at how bad the food was. I never experienced food that poorly prepared in all my adult life. How do you ruin mac and cheese, seriously I could have served better mac and cheese out of a box; It lacked cheese and had no flavor. The salmon wasn’t fresh, it had to be frozen and thawed…just terrible. The hot water cornbread is a head scratcher, it was really a hush puppy gone bad…just no taste, and the consistency was not correct. The calamari was fried too hard, overcooked and fishy. I must cook the calamari in the same cooking oil as the fried fish. The establishment isn’t going to make it much longer if they don’t fire everyone in that kitchen and start again. I can’t understand who cooking back in the kitchen is. It has to be someone that has never even boiled an egg before. I’m sorry, it’s just two big thumbs down.…
