Dallas >Pm: A Nightlife Lounge
HORRIBLE ATTITIUDES!!!. I have been to this bar a few times. When I stay at the Joule, service is adequate. I always make sure to pay for bottle service and reserve a good spot. The inside is an elegant lounge full of some of the Dallas 'it' crowd, so why a one star rating? Anyone who has ever been to PM Lounge knows about the beast at the door. A woman who comes outside to determine who she wants to let in and who is not worthy. I understand the concept of select enrty but the attitude that is given at the door is completely unacceptable! This woman has a horrible attitude and will say anything she wants w/out a filter. This is no way to provide top of the line service to your clientel. I stood by one day and watched as she interacted w/ a client who called ahead and reserved bottle service w/ her. The gentleman told her that she had text him earlier and confirmed his table as well as put his credit card on file to charge everything to. She simply said 'thats not true'. When the customer pulled out his phone and showed her the messages, she fabricated a story about him starting a fight last time he was there and thats why she was not letting him in. I though, ok, maybe this guy did have a reputation and thats why she is treating him with such disrespect. Just a few minutes later I watched another customer have an almost identical conversation with her about confirming a reservation and now suddenly getting rejected. To my shock I watched as she told this guy that he had started a fight last time he was there and thats why he could not get in. Again, to a completely different person! It was her attempt to embarrass the person in front of a crowd of his peers so that he would leave. My final straw was a point when I approached the doorway to go in with a group of friends after having been to this bar many times w/out a problem and was suddenly told that I did not have a reservation, even though she had confirmed it earlier via text. I was angry. No bar is worth this kind of treatment. No person with an ounce of dignity or respect for themselves should subject themselves to this kind of disrespect simply to gain access to a bar. There are plenty of other options in Dallas with superior customer service. This is lounge would be a fantastic venue but lack of simple respect for customers makes this place a BIG FAIL!
THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER.
It was a beautiful night for my friends birthday party and bachelorette party all in one. My friends and I were all decked out and riding in a stretched hummer limo. Our plans for the night included a lingerie party at the house then off to The Ritz for drinks and pictures, PM lounge to party and finally a nice evening at The Joule Hotel. Needless to say the night did not end up as planned.
We arrived at PM lounge a little after midnight only to be greeted very rudely by the doorman. We told them that we had a table reserved for our friend. They told us they did not have that person's name even though we told the manager that the party was for her and the credit card reserving the table was under her name. Her best friend was the one that had reserved the table and when we mentioned her name the door man said very rudely that he needed to speak with her. At that time she came walking up and one of the managers came to the door. She told us that since we did not arrive by 11:30 she had to give our table away. We were never told to be there by 11:30 and if we had known, we would have been there at that time. She told us that she sent an email and tried to call us. There was no email or call. We asked her to show us where she sent this and the only email that she had sent was to a Jennifer that none of us knew. At this time there was no apology and we were offered another table. Instead of making a big deal out of it me and about 10 girls followed her to the back area where the tables were. As we are all standing there she then tells us that this table has been given away as well. Again, no apology no nothing. We were all very upset. They sent out a very rude waitress that put her had in my face and told me to loose my attitude and that I would be kicked out if I didn't. I told her that I wasn't planning on staying anyway. Then she offered to buy us all a round of drinks.(INSULTING) Since were supposed to have a $700 minimum table that they threatened to charge us whether we showed up or not. We asked to speak to a General Manager and she basicly told us that she did not care about our situation. I have been in the customer service industry for over ten years. I have never been treated this way in my life. Not only did they give our table away, but they were very rude about it as if we were the ones that had done something wrong. It is very sad to me that these people are able to get away with treating people this way. I wonder if this kind of behavior is condoned by the owners and upper management. I have never been to this place before, it may be a very fun place but I will never return again and will never recommend it. I would hate for anyone to have to go through what we did. Not only did they ruin our friends birthday but also her bacholorette party. These are moments that you remember for the rest of your life.
Loved the atmosphere. We were staying at the joule hotel for my birthday. The club gave us a VIP table for 1/2 price and a free bottle of liquor on the house. We all had a blast. Didn't have to wait in any lines, just walked right in. I am going back very soon. :)
Nice place...once you get in. My wife and I stayed at the Joule this past weekend and just wanted a place to grab a drink on a Friday night so the front desk suggested we try PM Lounge which was just down stairs. We got to the door around 11:30 and the guy there asked us if we had reservations. We said no and that we were staying at the Joule and were just looking for a place to grab a few drinks. He stated that they normally go off reservations but since we were staying at the Joule he would allow us in as long as I took off my hat. You know, I can understand not allowing baseball caps in a high-end club but my hat went with my jacket and was part of my whole style. I also saw them turn away a couple of guys that looked just fine but one of them was wearing flip-flops. Anyway, once we got in the place was jumpin' and the music was good but a little too loud, this could be becuase of the very small size of the club. Upon entering we were informed that the seats and tables on the perimeter of the club (90% of all seating area) was reserved for bottle service but the rest of the club was open. On the night we were there there were only three groups at any of these tables. (leaving 75% of the seating area unused) Getting drinks was not too hard due to the fact that they had a bar at each end of the relatively small club. All in all, the club was nice and had good music but I felt that the door staff was trying to get us to buy bottle service when we didn't have to obviously because they can't sell it.
Mediocre. the place has a really cool look to it. Everything inside is gorgeous. Unfortunately the times i have been the drink prices are way to high, and there is little to no people inside. They need to figure out how to get people in there ASAP!
Great experience for non-minority Dallas.
I recently had the pleasure of visiting the PM Lounge. The decor of the Lounge is awesome. The music was decent, but the mixture of the two provided a great vibe; HOWEVER...to some the experience getting in will be...different. I see it says here the attire is "jacket and tie"; however, on the more "clubby" nights, the attire requirement is only what the chick at the door feels is trendy/stylish enough. If that is the type of vibe they want, they hired the perfect "person".
She wasn't the most pleasant person as she critiqued outfits, especially for minorities, but on the inside non-minorities had on whatever they felt like wearing. She did fall on her butt later that night, so maybe her critiques came back to bite her :)
Nice venue for the Dallas elite non-minority crowd...you'll have a great time! (being sarcastic, but there are some non-minorities actually don't want a mixed crowd...)
