I recently purchased 5 pieces of furniture from IKEA and a refrigerator. I'm sure the "details" of their so called delivery agreement are in the fine print agreement I signed, but NOTHING was explained to mes at the time of purchase. Items were delivered and "set" in their place. I had to unpack the refrigerator, and remove the wooden slats bolted to the bottom, as well as unpack the sofa. When I couldn't unfold the sofa, I called the customer care department to ask what I was doing wrong. The person I spoke with could offer no assistance other than to say she had never encountered that situation before, and to have the sofa sent back to the store and a new one delivered at my expense. I asked to speak with a supervisor and was told the same thing. Needless to say I was very angry and expressed my displeasure with both "idiots" and was told if I continued that anger they would disconnect me. Finally, after "disconnecting" them, I turned the very heavy couch on it's back and discovered two very heavy wire ties around the entire frame. Don't you think that a customer care associate and/or a customer care supervisor should have had the knowlege to suggest that. Needless to say, I will never set foot in that store again. CAUTION: If you buy a large item that is defective and needs to be returned, it happens at your expense!
