Good Value in Downtown
by chefm at Citysearch
The Hampton Inn offers a decent room at a fair price. It is rather convientantly located to public transportation, downtown, highways and market street. . Rooms are average sized with good mattresses and pillows, a desk, and a chair. Plenty of room to do some work and/or relax. The fitness center is well equiped and clean and is located off a rooftop pool deck which is nice on hot Texas days/nights. Breakfast is included free of charge but the selection is a bit predictable. The dining area is well kept and is clean, food replenished frequently and coffee and tea are always available. Note that this hotel is popular with groups on the weekend so it can be quite crowded at breakfast time. Note that on weekends, there are not a lot of restaurants open within walking distance (except for the very touristy, overpriced and unremarkable restaurants on market street).
- Pros: Good Affordable Hotel
