Superb. First of all, I believe this restaurant is under new management so i can't comment regarding previous reviews. We have been to this restaurant twice since Dec 2011 and have been impressed both times. The food is superb. Excellent selection of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. The quality exceeds that of many other Indian restaurants in DFW - for example, chicken curry had lean, boneless white meat...and was exceedingly flavorful. Dosa is also included with the buffet. Everything was delicious and we look forward to returning soon. Today if possible but i think the restaurant is closed on Mondays. Anyway, try it and experience for yourself. I hope it remains open and with the current management. We will continue to recommend above all other Indian Restaurants in DFW.
Worst Restaurant in Texas. I have never seen a restaurant as bad as this. I would not recommend this even to my enemy. They treat customers like s***. Its better to stay hungry then to go to this place. Someone by the name calling himself as Jacobs comes and talks all nonsense. I would not recommend this to anyone. Please don't go for it if you have self esteem. More than food, Respecting customers is important which is clearly lagging here.
Are u crazy ? PLFOODIE?.
Hey below person who wrote the comments.. are u crazy? I showed all how they cheat.. with fake comments. Read my comment before u call me bitter.
I work infosys i even showed few of clients the chef's picture.. and they all said They are not going back there any more..
Because why cheat in this small thing? Chef is a big time cheater.. dont believe.
Fantastic Food!.
Could not have asked for better food or sevice! My family and I ate there this week and the meal was outstanding. Love the dosa and garlic naan! The prices are great too and the chef even came out and talked to us about the menu and helped us order! Great family run place and LOVED IT! .
HEY- who is this bitter guy who claims reviews are fake? Who is he talking about cheating - sounds like a personsl issue. I am just a satisfied customer promoting a great new spot in plano!
Actual Cheaters.
Guys these below reviews are all fake.. Number 1 Reason: These comments are made by the Chef-
i have proof. Go down and check the review i put before. and click Comments (2) Then u will see The CHEF'S Picture.. (GUYS WHAT MORE DO YOU NEED TO SHOW THEM THAT THEY ARE CHEATING US) ?
He might remove the pic.. but still if any one even checks this RESTAURANT Search .
There u go.. If they cheat us in small things .. What more can we expect from them..
One of the best Indian restaurant in town. Beware, its clearly not for people who want the typical Indian fare...also it might be queer to the palate of many a those for whom Indian food is either North Indian or South. But if you want to experience what fusion Kerala cuisine could be then there is no better name in town. The menu is carefully crafted with items from all over the country to appeal to a wide variety of audiences and all of those items are tastefully designed but look out for the hidden gems and the Kerala fare. The amazing Fish Molly, the innovative Chicken Dosa, the delicious mutton curry, the out of the world Saag Veg or the very very yummy Halwa all prepared to maintain the fine balance between the homemade and the outside fare. I have been there many times and introduced my friends and all of them have really liked it. The Chef is amazing, he loves to talk about the food and the preparation, something you would find in high end Western restaurants but not common at typical Indian restaurants. The ambience is very good and the location of the restaurant prime if you live in Plano, Frisco, Allen, Richardson or North Dallas. I would highly recommend you to try it out at least a couple of times choosing different items. And as most of us know from experience its never good enough to come to a conclusion about most things anecdotally or based on one data point.
Awesome Service, Awesome Food!. Dinner was fabulous! I asked them to recommend something that I possibly could never have had before, and they brought me "kothuparatha"...basically, chopped up paratha/naan with onions, peppers, delicious chicken and Lord knows what else...it was AMAZING! I saw a few reviewers on here commenting on the poor service...you must have been having a bad day or s'thin...'cuz the staff here is very attentive and very courteous. Yes, the cook came and introduced himself, but so do the other cooks in most Indian places. And btw, arent most business in existence to make money? So I kinda dont get why the previous reviewer is ticked off abt the money part...oh well! I give it 5 shining stars!!
Cant even give this restaurant 1 star.
Yes , cant even give this restaurant 1 star... They got very bad food, the Staffs talk too much, Even the chef, comes out and talks alot, which i have never seen in any restaurant, And the restaurant Tables smell so bad, Dont know if they even clean it atleast once a month, The restrooms are filled with Paper towels, and it over flowing.
Food: we were almost 8 people, we bought 3 dosa which where not even crispy, not cooked right.
Rest we bought Chicken biriyani, the chicken in the biriyani had like a old kind of taste..
I dont trust this people they, just need money..
Never will go back..
I agree with cochin J below, The reviews written below which gives 5 stars.. are may be from the Owners or the chef.
Be careful guys
Misleading reviews.
I was just going through the reviews posted in Citisearch about Curry pot during last couple of weeks. No other restaurants have this many reviews posted on the web in a short period of time. That itself shows that there is something wrong. Looks like all the five star reviews are posted by the chef and his gang or by the same guy.
To be honest , I went there once and it is a less than average place.
Authentic and promising India/Kerala Cuisine. My recent move to Dallas has prompted a feverish exploration of local culinary options. While Indian food is not exactly a rarity in the Dallas area, the choices are quite often - one dimensional. But not The Curry Pot. My first visit to Curry Pot was this past weekend and it coincided with only the most regarded Keralite festival - Onam. There was some chaos given the big turnout for a special lunch (served at the table) buffet. Our table of six was assured of prompt service by the chef, Jacob. He did not disappoint. What followed was a 5 (or 6) course journey through a traditional South Indian feast. The preparation was excellent and service was wonderful given the circumstances. I look forward to many visits and I have been told that the buffet changes on a daily basis. Jacob was very attentive and open to feedback. I highly recommend The Curry Pot for any foodie willing to try the delicate coastal flavors of South India. And for those who missed the delicious Onam sadhya this time - well there is always next year....
