Tips for Town North Mazda

Fair Prices, Haggle and Hassle-Free. After getting the run around from Mazda dealerships in Austin who refused to budge on prices, Will and his manager quotes me a price that was almost $2300 less than Austin dealerships. The Austin dealerships tried to dissuade me from going to Dallas, saying the "good deal will vaporize" when I arrived, yet Will and staff were able to not only give me the price they quoted but knocked another $500 off for customer loyalty and 0% financing. Within one hour, I was in my brand new Mazda 3, heading back to Austin. I'd definitely buy another vehicle from them even it means travel to Dallas, as the savings and hassle-free environment truly offset any travel time and fees.

@ Slimey Salesman. I have read reviews for this dealership as well as many others and can usually spot dishonesty. The point of these reviews are to help consumers get an idea of where to purchase, yet you make it a point NOT to mention where you "went" instead? I personally have had multiple experiences with this Mazda Dealer in Richardson Tx. I have referred many people to them because they do not play the "GAMES" that typical salesman play. The prices are fair and they are more than willing to help where they can. It is my understanding, that even the worst dealer in the state wouldn't be dumb enough to produce a bogus Carfax, so if it was a clean Carfax then I doubt that there were any incidents. This seems to me that it is another dealership, who is merely upset that Town North is taking their business. The user name of this poster is "Slimey Salesman" which is probably exactly what they are. I truly hope that a person in the market for a new vehicle will read all of the reveiws and see that this is great place to do business!

Amazing Experience with Will at Town North Mazda. This is the email I sent over to Will, who made it an absolute pleasure to purchase a car. I conversed only through email and stated I did not want to spend an entire night at a dealership, as it often takes hours haggling/financing/etc. I was in and out of the dealership in under an hour! Super nice, very friendly.. if only they had an open bar!

Sent this morning to him:

"Will,

I just wanted to say "THANK YOU" so much for all of your help these past two days. I dreaded car shopping after my car was totaled, and you were patient and understanding with me communicating via email, in which other dealerships were not. You made the experience very easy, from my inquiry to helping me program "my home" in the navigation before I drove out of the dealership. I will definitely recommend you, and the whole Town North Mazda dealership, as that was the quickest and easiest car buying experience myself or anyone I know has been a part of.

Thank you again, and have a wonderful new year! "

DON'T GO STAY AWAY. I feel bad for people that have purchased from Town North Mazda, because chances are, they've been ripped off. We looked at a used car there, the price on the lot was $1000 more than the internet price, something tells me that the average joe that walked on the lot and didn't check the website first would never be told about an internet price (go figure). The car we looked at had obviously been in an accident, but they seemed to produce an accident free carfax. The cars worth was nowhere near the internet price, and they would only come down $200 on price. All of the dealers stood around in a group in the parking lot, not very approachable and obviously chompin at the bit to find the next sucker that would fall for buying one of their polished turds.

This would be a great place to refer an enemy, or a great solution for a need for feeling screwed over a few days after realizing what you should've paid a grand or two less for a vehicle. Places like this make buying a car

Great Customer Service!. This is the very best new car purchase I have ever made. I have purchased alot of cars in my time and the Internet Manager, Will was a pleasure to work with. Very prompt when it came to emails and phone calls. He was very knowledgable and was able to answer all my questions. He knew his stuff! I plan on making my next purchase from Town North Mazda (from Will) when my daughter is ready here in about a month.

The hardest part of my purchase was deciding which color to go with. With their great inventory I was able to see every color in person on the CX-7.

I would recommend anyone in the market for a Mazda to go see Will. He even told me that if I send people to him he would pay referrels. So mention my name.

Bad experience from start to finish. Do not do business with Town North Mazda. They make misleading price quotes, fail to back up their promises, and use dishonest tactics to upsell you.

A salesperson quoted me his "best internet price" via phone on a CX-9 and told me to come to the dealership. When made it clear I wasn't coming in until I had arrived at a firm price on a vehicle they had in stock, he stopped returning calls and didn’t respond to my emails. My guess was they don’t want buyers who do their homework. They want to get people on the lot so they can upsell them.

A few days later got a call from a sales manager at Town North who said he was following up on sales leads from Mazda’s main site (not the dealer site). He didn’t know I already had been talking to someone else at Town North – or so he said. When I told him I already had a quote from them, he told me that vehicle was “no longer available” – he said it may have been sold, he wasn’t sure. When I told him what I had been quoted he said he could not sell me a car for that price and tried to start haggling with me again. I told him I’d be working with another dealer.

A week later I got a call from a third person at Town North who promised to be more responsive. I should have trusted my gut and hung up, but I started working with him on price. I didn’t get the color or price I wanted, but finally arrived at an acceptable deal. I gave them my credit card number, to which they charged $500 to hold the vehicle. Because of work, I couldn’t come in immediately to pick up the car. They said I could come it was fine to come in 3 days later.

I called on the agreed upon day to make sure the car was ready and was told the guy I was working with was no longer there. Not only that, they didn’t know who I was or anything about the deal I made. Yes, the car was still on the lot, but they didn’t know it had been sold. They said they’d be happy to sell it to me for $1000 more than the price they previously agreed on.

Town North Mazda was dishonest about pricing, made a deal they would not back up, charged my credit card to hold a vehicle, then tried to raise the price at the last minute. Don’t do business with them.

STAY AWAY - They will get you!!!. STAY AWAY - They lie on the price of their vehicles. I bought a used Mazda Tribute on their lot, but we had not checked the web pricing. We asked the sales person about the price and he said the car was $12,995, and the finance director went down some more; this was on 11-6. When we checked the web on 11-8, the exact same truck (we checked by VIN), it had a price of $11,995. We called back on 11-10 to find out why Charled had lied about the price, and they said it was wrong on the website ... on 2 websites, their own and Yahoo!! We can document all this, but it again proves... You cannot trust car saleman!!!

Editorial Review by Citysearch Editors. Mazda dealership in Richardson since 1974 sells new and pre-owned vehicles, and offers financing, parts and service.
