After dining at Battuto Italian Kitchen, all I can say now is... I wish I would have brought my wife!
I was fortunate enough to eat here during a business trip, and I was impressed with the experience as a whole. In addition to having some amazing cocktails and local beers, the appetizers were perfect. Our entrees were phenomenal and the dessert left us speechless! My co-workers were equally impressed with their experience, and couldn't help but continually praise the service. This was all top quality from our perspective, and we were glad that we made the trip.
In addition to the great food and atmosphere, the owners were on the floor as well to personally ensure a quality experience for all who were there. My co-workers and I left feeling great, and like I had said to start my review... I wish I would have brought my wife. Needless to say, I would be a shoe-in for "Husband of the Year" honors, if I were to plan a date night at Battuto Italian Kitchen!
Battuto is a farm-to-table modern Italian restaurant hasn't been open long; in fact, as of today, 4-11-13, they haven't even had their official opening, but I am already hooked on several of their menu items. I even crave the burrata and roasted garlic appetizer! You can't go wrong with any of the short rib dishes; I also recommend the sea scallops and the veal burger. Their Caesar salad is unique and delicious. They have a solid wine list (and I'm a wine lover) and a full bar where the bartenders are happy to make you whatever your palate desires. The chocolate martini, which uses homemade chocolate sauce because the manager doesn't allow high fructose corn syrup anywhere near the place, was wonderful The atmosphere is sophisticated and still relaxed. Definitely one of my favorite places in North Dallas.
We have been eagerly anticipating the opening of Battuto and were not disappointed. From the moment we were greeted at the front door until we left the service was impeccable. Our waiter, was informative,patient, and pleasant throughout the meal. His knowledge of the menu items made our first visit a success. The appetizer we chose was the wood fired toast, roasted garlic and mozzarella was out of this world! My husband had the 3 day short ribs with polenta, and I had the chicken asparagus pasta. Both were delightful. Even though there's not an official dessert menu offered, the waiter made us aware of their gelato and sorbet selections. The chocolate gelato and raspberry sorbet were a perfect ending to our meal.
The decor of the restaurant made you forget it was located in a strip center. Our table was very warm and cozy. Even though the restaurant was packed with families, couples and groups, the noise of the conversations never rose to a level of irritation.
Would I make the drive (40 min) to Battuto again? Absolutely!
