Lefty's is truly outstanding. I recently dined at Lefty's Lobster & Chowder House located in Addison. I have been hearing quite a bit of good about Lefty's lately, so I decided to give it a shot. I have to say first of all the food was outstanding. It was worth every penny. I ordered clam chowder to start, which I really enjoyed. I then ordered the Walu butterfish (off the specials menu), definitely some of the best fish I've eaten in a very long time. Everything off the menu is prepared right in the kitchen, including dessert. The owner told me that the sauces, even the tartar sauce, are all homemade as well. Everything is homemade. Certainly a great place to bring a family or a date. The owner and wait-staff make you feel right at home, and I will definitely be going back. Has to be some of the best seafood anywhere.
What a great place!!!!. This is one of my favorite places. It's smokey, loud, tons of fun and the food is great.Top notch chowder and wonderfull bisqe. The lobsters are very good and the service is fun, friendly and prompt. This place has a very cool bar if you can get a seat.Very casual with tip-top food.If you don't know Lefty's you just don't know what your missing.
Uninspired cuisine. On Saturday night my boyfriend and I decided to give this place a try. Sadly to our dismay we were let down. We were seated promptly and the staff was friendly enough to start with, but as we looked over the menus, we thought that it had potential. I ordered the Mussels in marinara over linguine which quite frankly my cousin's six year old could have executed with better flavors. The mussels were bland and the marinara exhibited the quality and taste of a canned sauce than the fresh it claimed to be. My boyfriend ordered the Cajun Trout with a Crawfish remoulade. It came with two sides consisting of a baked potato and the vegetable special of corn on the cob. Two starches is very unimpressive and unhealthy for side dishes. Steamed vegetables would have been a better choice. He said that the fish was cooked well but it took him a while to get to it because of the half a cup of remoulade sauce that was covering it. The corn on the cob was also boiled to the texture that someone wearing dentures would have no problem chewing it. Unless you like bland food or do not have an adventurous palate I would not recommend this place.
