This is NOT Cafe Portobello!. I'm not sure why old reviews for Cafe Portobello are still showing up, but this restaurant is under new ownership. Was so happy to have a family-owned business open in the heart of Coppell. New menu (with phenomenal wood-fired pizza), welcoming decor, and a great vibe. You can feel comfortable coming in dressed up for a special evening or in jeans to grab an espresso and cannoli. The owners and staff are always gracious and accommodating. Can't wait to go back again!

Best casual Italian with top notch food in Coppell. Maurizio opened this place in February 2010. He and his wife Deena redecorated and brought in a new menu.

We have been MANY times. We have tried most of the entrees and desserts. All is good.

At lunch they serve special sandwiches that are not on the dinner menu. Its worth going both times just to enjoy the variety.

I have taken several friends, they all go back on their own as well.

dishonest bill/check out. They have good food, but the server or owner was being dishonest and "cheap". First of all, they served overnight bread since we were the first customer there, which was stone hard bread. They didn't give us the fresh bread until the 2nd round when the old bread was all gone. Then when we used a $5 off coupon, the server pretended it was a 5% coupon, and took only $2 off. Come on! Which restaurant on earth would issue 5% off coupon?!?! Then, the menu said 18% tip added to party of 6 or more, we only had 4 people and the check came with tip added in already, plus it was calculated post tax total. No wonder why they have less and less business everytime I went!!!! Terrible work ethic!!!

A true gem - some of the best italian you will find anywhere. When we lived in Coppell, my wife and I would frequent Cafe Portobello. Simply put, it is excellent italian food in a quaint, neighborhood setting. The ceasar salads are large and flavorful. The Veal Portobello is perfectly executed and is sublime - I can't recommend it enough. Over the years, we've had just about everything on the menu, and nothing has disappointed. It is so refreshing to find a high-quality, elegant italian place with a neighborhood feel. Though a little pricey, it is worth every penny. My wife and I have dinner there whenever we are back in Dallas.
