Bad Experience – We just got back from Sakura off 121 and Preston and we should of went with our gut from the beginning when we smelled raw eggs from the outside of their place. We proceeded to go in, and unforunately the smell was exactly the same when we went in. We didn't have a good feeling looking at the place and how unkept and unsanitary it looked as well. Normally I never ask for bottled water at a restaurant if I drink water, but at this place, that was the first thing I asked for when they took our drink order, so that should tell you what their place looks like. Also, just FYI, they cost $2 for a small bottle of water. We ordered our food and the one nice thing was that the kids plate was brought out earlier so she didn't go stir crazy. I ordered the NY steak strip and half of the steak was so chewy, I had to discard the fatty parts in my napkin :( The portion sizes was decent at least. The rice was not fresh, disappointing considering it was 6pm on a Friday night when I would think their food would be fresh around this time. The worst part that made us decide of not going back was the 15% gratuity being added to our bill. It was just the 2 of us and 1 child. It's the principle of the matter and it ticked us off. I've never been to a place that did that. Overall, I expected a nice experience in a clean environment with good japanese food, and we were completely disatisfied! We will not go back.

First Impression was that it smelled horrible – A friend had suggested this place so I did not want to insult him, but otherwise I would have left within 30 seconds of walking in the door. The stinky fish smell was really bad throughout the place. The decor is cheesy, our server barely tolerated us being there, and the food wasn't at all bad. Final decision when the bill came. My friend and I asked them to split the bill onto two credit cards. They brought the credit card slips back for signature with tip already added...for 2 people. Was it a split charge? It was not explained as such. And frankly the tip they added was less than I would have left. But after they added it themselves, I certainly did not add to it.

Terrible customer service – To kick things off, the waiter brought me a glass of warm water and my friend a glass of water with ice. Umm ok. So I try to bring it to his attention but he flat out ignores me and walks away. Eventually after 3 or 4 unsucessful tries to get his attention, I get the BUSBOY to bring me water with ice.Ok weird but not exactly a deal breaker at this point. The waiter comes back 20 mins later to take our order. We order two rolls and then the great wait begins. We sat for 45 minutes politely waiting. For two rolls. I look around and see people who came in after me finishing their meals. Enough is enough so I finally flag the waiter down after hes obviously been ignoring our table. I question him about the food..he says he'll go check it out. He never comes back. At this point I get up and ask the hostess for a manager. She goes off to find him, comes back without him,says she is actually the manager( yeah right) and whats the problem.So I tell her the waiter has been ignoring us, wheres our food and why was my water warm and my friends cold? Whats that all about??? She mumbles something about running behind. This is clearly a lie because there were people who came in after us who were finished and leaving .Also one glance at the lounging sushi chefs suggest otherwise.So she calls the waiter over. He then proceeds to call me a liar and say that there WAS ice in the glass . So I inform him the the busboy was responsible for my water being cold and not him. He then tells me and my friend to "leave and never come back" with a wave of his hand like its our fault he didn't bring us ice, that he ignored us repeatedly, that we waited an hour for two veggie rolls. To wrap it up,go to Sakura at your own risk. Don't expect prompt service. Don't expect friendly waitstaffs.Don't expect to ever see a manager if anything goes wrong. I can't comment on the quality of the food. I never got it.

Is this really japanese food? – Sorry, I was very dissapointed after being at this restaurant. The way the rice is cooked for sushi is everything but for sushi. The service is very slow and kind of unfriendly. Overall, price-food quality ratio is very high.
