Negligent--if not outright fraudulent !
by bs2048 at Citysearch
We had a terrible experience and suspect this company engages in fraudulent and unnecessary repairs. However, I will outline the facts of our experience and let the reader be the judge.
We were paired up with Bostech through our Nations Home Warranty. When they came out to check out our AC, they suggested we replace the entire system (even though only the leaking coil was covered by Nations).
We ultimately decided to replace the system with Bostech, however this was only because Nations would not replace the coil through a different vendor--they said we had to use Bostech. Customer service from Bostech was terrible--it took almost 10 separate phone conversations to set up the replacement appointment,
A few months later, my handyman discovered that the Bostech tech who had installed our unit had duct taped the filter into the duct. This explained why I could never figure out how to change the filter. Surprisingly, duct taping the filter into the duct is not up to code, so I paid my handyman $200+ to install a bracket to hold the filter & a magnetic door to access the filter. (I called Bostech to determine whether a something other than duct tape should have been used during the installation, however they never returned my calls).
12 months after installation, I noticed a drip from the unit & called Bostech to service under warranty. The tech came out, shut off out A/C and told us the condenser had to be replaced under warranty (at a cost of $700+ to us) or it would cause more damage. When Ron from Bostech never returned my calls to find out what was wrong with the unit & why it had to be replaced (I was out of town when the tech visited), I scheduled another service company come out.
The other service company identified a minor issue with the coil and were able to fix it in less than an hour for $175. They also pointed out that--although the Bostech tech had shut down the cooling function of our A/C unit--he had neglected to turn the fan off & 120+ degree heat from our attic had been pumped into the living space of our house for several days. A somewhat dangerous & negligent move when the outside temperature is approaching 110 degrees!
Again, I relay our story to let reader's decided for themselves. However, I strongly suspect that Bostech tried to leverage the extreme heat we are experiencing this summer to pressure us into replacing a perfectly good AC unit at considerable cost to us. Therefore, I encourage others to do their research and if Nations tries to force you to use them, try to work with a different vendor.
Bostech Services-Garland, TX - DO NOT USE!!!

HORRIBLE!!! HORRIBLE WORKMANSHIP and HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! CAUTION to the consumers...DO NOT USE this company!!! They were terrible with their workmanship and did not care to correct what they did wrong. DO NOT USE especially if you are a senior citizen. Called into the company and spoke with Becky who is rude and unconcern with correcting their issue during their installation process. Becky would NOT listen to the problem, then said she'd call back and never called back. Owner didn't care to remedy the problem; nor did he care that his staff was extremely unprofessional and bullied me. WARNING-DO NOT USE! DO NOT USE! Don’t let them take advantage of you too.
Miscommunication or misleading

While getting service from Bostech, the technician either misled us or didn't know how things worked in the company. Consequently, service was seriously delayed in a time of crisis. Their listed phone number is wrong. The proper phone number is 972-485-8808

I used bostech for their a/c services and had a decent service....when i hired them for plumbing servies it was a disaster....the plumbers for got to run hot water to an island in the kitchen....put toilet off-center....forgot to run line for hot water heater....so that all was a disaster after foundation was poured.....you would think there would be some type of apology....but the owner then got involved and tried to blame everything on someone else.....unbelievable! finally had to get new plumbers to finish job....who found even more mistakes....DO NOT USE BOSTECH!
