McKinney >El Chico
Serving up heaping portions of Mexican favorites since 1940..
This Southern chain serves Tex-Mex and Mexican staples to large groups and families who come to gab over unlimited chips and hearty food staples. The Southwestern decor features bright colored walls and thick terracotta-tiled floors. Classic El Chico combinations, around since the company started in 1940, heap tamales, cheese enchiladas and refried beans on one plate. Tex-Mex items represent tastes for fajitas, soft tacos and enchiladas verde.
Love the chimichangas! Great food!. I am a HUGE fan of El Chico's everywhere in Texas. I'm worried because all of them seem to be closing down though. =( Hopefully this location in McKinney is here to stay. We visited there last month and had a great experience. Our server was friendly and especially nice to our children. He gave them each a balloon and that just made their day. It also helped them with behaving in the restaurant. The drinks were refilled promptly as well as the chips. We love the chips here, always very crisp. The food was delicious. I recommend the Chicken Fajita Chimichanga-it is yummy and extra cheesy. The only negative about El Chico is that it's a little more expensive than the regular Mexican restaurant, but not by much. It depends on what you are comparing it to really. I would say a little more expensive than On The Border. Anyways, try this place out-its one of my favorites!
