Family fare. Chubby's has been in Plano for quite some time. They have remodeled the inside and cleaned up the place. The food is ok but that is it. My husband and I go there from work sometimes for dinner. We are the youngest people there and we are in our mid 60's. They have their daily specials but they removed my favorite. Boo Hoo. This restaurant reminds me of the dinners from old.
Just a place. Been coming here for 15 years, nothing to write home about, food barely makes it to the tables cooked, but I'm a country boy and settle for less I guess. Wait staff is as old as my mom, hasn't got the style you'd find at a real restaurant, but Chubby's isn't where you'd go to find good solid everyday food.
Dissapointing. It had been a few years since I visited Chubby's and I had positive memories and expectations. I went with my finance' for lunch and noticed they had redecorated and expanded, nice atmosphere, clean and attractive. But: The wait staff was disinterested, the service was slow, after 30 minutes I finally asked about our order and only then did the waiter mention the cook was late for work and later offered luke warm apology. He was otherwise inattentive and even avoiding eye contact with me, presumably sensing our irritation.
Best assortment of choices to please any and all members of your family. This is 5 star dining on a mid-income budget. One of the friendliest little neigborhood restaurant I have ever dined in and I keep going back and still have not found a bad menu item. It is home-style freshly prepared food without the headache of doing the dishes afterward.
