Good food but not a good ambience. I have been to Udipi Cafe many times, the one from the old owner and to the one to the new owner. Those days, lunch buffet was horrible. These days the food is not that bad. Chutney is made once a week, looks like, and served cold. One cannot eat it just like that. Rasam is defintely not south Indian. Sambar lacks veggies. Ah, one more thing, they don't serve naan because they don't have naan making tawa. The Air Condiion has been broken for a year and the owner doesn't seem to be bothered by it. With some minor things like these, you can still enjoy the food.

poorest first time experience.
This was my first time experience on may 30, 2011. First of all, air conditioning wasn't on, me and my wife were feeling so hot. They told us to sit under the ceiling fan but never turned on the AC.
Secondly, Masala Dosa, it was wood hard, when it was served. Sambar was just water with no veggies in it. Coconut Chutney had some different fermenting taste and was of green color. Never seen a pure coconut chutney of green color before.

Worst Restaurent in Dallas.
Udipi Cafe is the wort restaurant in Dallas.Very expensive with less variety of foods.
Not worth for the price.It is horrible.

Worst food in entire Dallas metroplex.
Substandard lunch buffet. Looks like the items were cooked few days back and being heated and served.
Medu vada had a foul smell. Spoons and plates not clean.
Ambience horrible.
Please. Please. Please avoid this restaurant

A terrible restaurant. One of the worst vegetarian restaurants in richardson. The service was really lackluster and was matched by an unpalatable buffet: No salt in the upma, rubber like bajji, dehydrated rotis, and the list goes on. Please don't waste your money eating at this sub standard restaurant!

Avoid if posible. The service was really bad. The waiter kept staring all the time. The poori was good, but the bondas and dosas were bad

The quality is very bad. We had ordered for a veg Thali. The quality was so bad. I mean nothing to write home about. Also the quantity is very less. It is not worth for money.
