Great Variety!.
I have been to this restaurant twice, once during their lunch buffet and another during their dinner menu times, and I am pleased to say that I was satisfied but times. The service was great and the variety of food they had during their buffet was great, I found myself enjoying 98% of all their selections and will definitely be going back.

Richardson's Best Vegan Restaurant. Under new ownership and management, the Veggie Garden Vegan Restaurant in Richardson is BACK! Newly remodeled, nice folks and great food. Buffett at lunchtime and menu at night, either way it's fantastic. Be sure to thank Joy! GO VEGAN!
Shocked, Dismayed, and Frustrated.
I love the food at this place, and after I discovered it a couple of months ago, I ended up becoming a regular customer. I even told all my friends about it, and some of them also became regular customers.
Today, the lady who works the register there falsely accused me of leaving one day last week without paying. This accusation thoroughly surprised me and shocked me, because it is untrue -- I have paid every time I've eaten there, which is many -- and being accused like this was completely unexpected. I've never been treated like this at any restaurant in my life, and even if the accusation had been true, I don't think that this would have been the proper way to deal with it.
She unfairly made me feel like a criminal, when in reality I've been a steady and loyal patron for a couple of months now. She thoroughly embarrassed me in front of my friend and another customer, and even though I love the food there so much, I think that I won't be going there to eat again.
Very strange, frustrating, and disconcerting experience.
One of my favorite places to eat. I first discovered Veggie Garden a little over a year ago, and have been going back ever since. The lunch buffet is an amazing value, and I'd venture to say that at $6.50, it's less expensive than other non-vegan Chinese buffets around the DFW. I often find myself craving the kung pao "chicken", which is always on the buffet. The atmosphere is very serene, with soft lighting and (usually) baroque or classical music. Every friend I've taken to this restaurant has loved it. Give it a try!
Great food, wonderful staff..
Lunch is tasty, and a great deal. Dinner is a little more expensive, but is extremely well done.
Lunch buffet is good, though not as wide-ranging, and I find that I like it the most when I get there early in the lunch hour (probably like most buffets). A great place to eat.
Great food that happens to be vegan.. I am a vegan, but my mom and stepdad are not, but we all went to Veggie Garden and loved it. We had the mongolian soy beef and a spicy eggplant dish and an appetizer tray. All of it was great. Choice of white or brown rice. The menu was huge, at least 20 dishes in several categories: soy chicken, soy pork, soy seafood, soy beef, and vegetable dishes. A real mom 'n' pop kind of place, run by a woman in front of house and a man, probably her husband, in the kitchen. Good service. Great food. Only one item on the menu is not fully vegan; they serve crab ragoon with real dairy, but it is marked dairy in red letters on the menu. The restaurant doesn't look like much from the outside, and the inside isn't much either, but the food was excellent, moderately priced, and vegan. I'm planning to go back for their lunch buffet as soon as I can. Highly recommended for anyone vegetarian or someone just looking to try something new. Take a friend that is not vegetarian and see if they can tell the difference. Overall, highly recommended.
