Outstanding Vet – I visited Dr. England for the first time this morning with a friend's dog whom I knew was in poor health. I have never met such a compassionate, kind, understanding, professional. He genuinely cares! Since his clinic is run on a walk-in basis it was perfect for my situation and well worth the wait. I will recommend him to all my friends and family. It's so nice to know there are such good people who really care still out there!
WORST FRONT DESK SERVICE EVER – I have never been treated so badly by any human being! Sure Dr.England may be a good vet and talented in many aspects that most vets tend to ignore, but the front desk help is absolutely worthless! in my oponion i would rather pay 10X the amount just so i can be treated like a human.
I have been going to Dr. England for several years and his staff continues to become more worthless with every visit. on Petmeds they sell intrepid for $40 at Dr. Englands office they sell it for $60 so i decided to order it online. petmeds associate called me back and told me that the staff at Englands office would not release the prsecription even though it would save me $20 a month!
RECAP= cheap service doesnt save you money in the end and takes hours to get!
DONT WAIST YOUR TIME
Best Veterinarian within 100+ miles – In the course of my employment (the previous 5 years), I've transported many boarding companions to Cedar Hill Veterinary Clinic due to the fact the pet owners indicated that Dr. Timm England was their personal veterinarian. More Importantly to me is my strictly personal experience with Dr. England. I have taken my own dogs to Dr. England for the last 6 years. I currently have 3 canine companions ranging in age from 2 years to 11 years of age. Almost 2 years ago, I took my young german shepherd mix, Piper, to see Timm because she wasn't able to hold even small amounts of liquid down for severa days, in spite of medications to ease nausea. Dr. Timm England diagnosed Piper, within 12 hours, with a rare disorder, megaesophagus. Several other veterinarians consulted by my family prior to that were unable to make suggestions. Because of his diagnosis only, I was able to end Piper's unavoidable and uninterruptible suffering. The best. The most compassionate. The waiting time and the extremely low fees aside, Dr. England has more than earned my respect and loyalty.
Re: The comment written by daughterofzion.
She needs to go to Texas A&M University get a degree in Vet Medicine and treat her own animals. I've never had a bad experience there. She would complain if she were hung with a new rope. Two vets down for her and half a million to go. Busy lady. Sorry sweetie. These vets are the best.
Very disappointed – I was very disappointed. Dr. England was highly recommended by many people that I have met. I looked up reviews online before taking my puppy in to this clinic. She had been sick and I was not pleased with my previous vet clinic- so I decided to bring her here. Besides the long wait- which is to be expected since there are no appointments...I was not pleased. The front desk staff was not rude- but she was not overly friendly.
I waited in the office when Dr. England entered my room. He did not introduce himself and he was very rude. He began by telling me my puppy was not the breed I said she was. She is not registered and she is a mix- but I do not care. She has two dominant breeds mixed with some other breeds. He then told me her feces sample was clean- and I told him that I wormed her two days prior. He asked me what I had used- and I told him where I had bought it. I also told him the main ingredient in it. He said- oh yeah that is awesome and I said it is awesome! It worked pretty well. He then continued to tell me that the wormer only wormed against one kind and was the safe thing to use. He was actually being sarcastic when he said it was awesome. He then asked me questions like what type of heartworm medicine she is on. When I told him he told me that that is a "safe" kind and I needed to switch her as soon as it ran out. I am okay with that except I felt like I was being talked down to the entire time.
He also did not bother to check her gums to make sure she was hydrated enough (as she had lost weight due to being sick.) He decided at last minute to check her stomach to make sure she had not digested anything. While he was doing that he made the comment that she was a scaredy cat dog and that I needed to socialize her more. I told him she had just graduated from eight weeks of puppy class PURPOSEFULLY so that she could be socialized. I do not appreciate cutting comments.
To end things- he told me that the pumpkin in a can was only used for dogs who were constipated. I had been told by another vet to use small amounts to help with diarrhea. I felt angry by the time I left the office because he talked to me like I did not know anything.
He was nice in the fact, he did not want to charge me a lot of money to run tests. He wanted to try her on medicine first before doing something that would cost a lot of money. I doubted that this was the same Dr. England everyone spoke so highly of- but it was. I called to confirm that is who I saw. I was very disappointed because I take pride in my pets and want a vet who cares. I felt disappointed that I have to continue searching for a vet clinic that I like. There is nothing friendly about this experience.
Great Dr. and staff, but has become non-patient friendly! – I have been going to this clinic for years and didn't mind waiting my turn to see the vet, but now it has just gotten ridiculous. Only shots are done on Saturdays, the vet is not available. That makes it very inconvenient for those of us with jobs.
I have never been treated rudely by any staff member. They have always gone above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of but with the change in office hours recently and the vet no longer available on Saturdays, I will have to find another place to take my pets.
Kindness takes Time – I love this Vet Clinic. I have had pets seen by both Dr England and Dr Ellis. I am not bothered by the wait. It is not a boring one, for sure. Many people chose to wait in their car and some who have the timing figured out, actually run an errand or two, though if you are not there when your turn comes up, you'll lose your spot and have to wait longer. I find both vets very skilled and both are compassionate and understand that our pets are like family to us and they are never dismissive about our fears and concerns. They are not jaded by years in field or in any way callous. Far from it. They mourn the loss right along with us when a pet's life is at end and they need to be gently ushered out of this world painlessly and with dignity. I have visited this office for years now and will always bring my pets here. I like the staff as well. Price wise, it is wonderful! So many folks who would be unable to afford top care for their pets can afford it here. In that light, a bit of a wait is a very small inconvenience.
The Best Vet Clinic In Texas! – I have 3 dogs and Dr. England has taken care of them with the utmost compassion and caring no other vet has had the patience and understanding like him and the staff at the clinic had.
When my mothers dog was ready to go...sniff..he was right there with us to just guide and care for not only brown dog but my mom..she got through it great!
I live in Richardson now but still after 13 years go to Cedar Hill for any care they need.
DR TONY ELLIS THE BEST EQUINE VET EVER – EVERY TIME I COME TO CEDAR HILL VET , DR. TONY ELLIS MAKES SURE I UNDERSTAND EVERYTHING I
NEED FOR MY HORSES. HE EXPLAINS EVERYTHING. ALSO HIS STAFF ESPECIALLY MARY, IS VERY HELPFUL.
I NEVER TAKE MY HORSES ANYWHERE ELSE. THE FRONT STAFF IS VERY RUDE.
Cheap vet/rude staff – While Dr. England is an adequate veterinarian, since he doesn't take appointments, you can expect a three to four hour wait in order to see him. I can not understand how this clinic can't figure out how to use appointments since the entire rest of the world has it figured out!!! I was told that his office staff didn't like the complaints if people saw the vet after their scheduled time and that's why they decided to do a sign in process. That's hardly a valid reason for the ridiculous sign in process.
The office staff is not only incompetent but rude. The office manager, Christie, has an attitude problem. It doesn't matter how polite nor pleasant a client is, she's just plain rude. I've never seen the woman smile.
Additionally, due to mismanagement of time, surgeries are scheduled MONTHS in advance. An abscessed tooth and mammary tumors couldn't be surgically treated for two months. That's simply not acceptable.
After being treated as if they didn't want my business, I have taken my business elsewhere.
