Great View, not much more. My wife and I went here for our 25th, While I would reccomend the view from the paito as above average we did have a couple of issues. The first was the salad, you can only get what dressing they offer, which is almost nothing, my wife ordered hers dry and they still managed to get oil and vinegar on it. She didnt eat any of it. I ordered my steak ($50) medium and hers well done ($50) and they got that backwards....The steak was tender but only average in taste. For my money "Outback" does it better. We wont go back.

Subterranean dining and choice meat lure downtown power lunchers to this elegant escape from the Texas heat.. The Scene
Passersby hear this venerable steakhouse before they see it--a rushing waterfall cascading over terraced granite is the focal point of the sunken courtyard and underground dining room. Guests hop an elevator down to the entrance, where a black, pink and cream marble floor and neoclassical decor exude luxury and charm. French doors open onto the courtyard where diners enjoy a cool breeze and a plethora of greenery.

The Food
Hand-picked USDA prime steaks dry aged to ensure tenderness as well as fresh seafood are the signature elements in most dishes. Appetizers include the field green salad drizzled with balsamic vinegar and garnished with fried onion strings. The clam chowder is a rich and creamy blend of carrots, potatoes, parsley, salmon and clams. Lighter entrees, like the Sonoma chicken, are available, but the main attraction is the red meat--grilled medium-rare.

GREAT STEAK. The restaurant was outstanding, and the waiter was very helpful in guidning me to an excellent steak for my taste. I thought everything was excellent about the place except for the small bar, and the dessert (key lime pie -was awful).

Dakotas is a Great Place for Food and Friends. Dakotas restaurant has some of the best food in Dallas. My group had about 16 people and we were very impressed with the service of the waitstaff. Our order was served in just the right amount of time and not a single item was forgotten. The entire staff is courteous and very helpful with menu selections. The food was delicious. The restaurant is beautiful from the valet parking to the elevator ride down to the lit waterfall at night. Dakotas is a restaurant I will continue to eat at for a long time.

Steak and Lobster rock!!. I've heard the phrase "food that melts in your mouth". The steak and lobster at Dakota's definitely fit that bill. Incredible food, great service and nice ambience ensures that I will return again and will try to bring a friend, so they might enjoy this delightful experience.

great atmosphere - terrible food!. when you drop $200 on a meal you expect to be able to eat it. we ordered the steak medium rare and it and the asparagus came out burned; the mashed potatoes and wine were good though. we asked if the steak was cooked correctly and they said no. so, we wated for the next round and it came out raw. i mean i will eat a rare steak with the best of them but this one was seared on the ouside and cold in the middle. i gave up and said just put it ina box and i will cook it for lunch the next day. overall the feel of the place and the waitstaff are great but what a waist of money on the food!

Incredible steaks, impressive wine list.... My most recent visit to Dakota's was fabulous as usual. I opted for an impeccably fresh fish entree instead of my usual Cowboy Ribeye. The appetizers, wine, and entrees were excellent right down to the smallest detail. All of this in the most amazing sunken courtyard below a waterfall. From the candelight and greenery to the leather banquettes, its a sexy tribute to the power-dinner crowd.
