Dallas >Level Two
Well, first I will say that the owner is very kind. He seemed very thorough, although his thoroughness sometimes came across as pushy. Saying that I should or should not use certain linens, etc. And this was just with a few conversations over the phone. So, I would be curious to know exactly how this would fly when I disagreed with one of his opinions. But, I'm sure he does have more experience than me, so I listened. Again, he was kind, but in a "salesman kinda of way".
However, this alone was not enough to keep us from considering this facility. We liked the ambiance (in the pics) and we liked the pricing options (that he gave us over the phone). However, there were things that REALLY gave me and my fiance red flags.
My fiance was born profoundly deaf. I am not deaf, and thus did most of the communicating on the phone. We tried to set up a meeting with him, but he was unavailable. However, he did make arrangements for us to meet with someone else which I thought was very kind. But, before we drove all the way out the (from Houston to Dallas) I wanted him to communicate with my fiance. Mainly because I trust my fiance's intuition.
There are a couple of ways he could communicate with my fiance. My fiance can get online and use a Sprint service in which he types what he wants to be said, and someone at Sprint relays the message to the other person on the phone and visa versa. I very clearly explained to the owner how this worked. We arranged for a time for this call to take place. We did this twice, and both times he stood us up on the phone call. Then my fiance emailed the owner with some questions. The owner not only didn't respond to my fiance's email, but instead called me and said that his computer wasn't letting him repsond to the email (really?). Then he started asking me weird questions about if my fiance had ever worked for him. I said no, and told him that if he wanted to book us for a wedding that he was going to have to find some way to communicate with my fiance.
Excuse after excuse, my fiance started to wonder if he was just making the prices sound good because he was unwilling to put anything in writing. Only communicated to me via phone. Not only that but we were greatly offended in his lack of willingness to communicate with my fiance. Would he be that unwilling during all of our planning with him?
Oh, and in the end he emailed my fiance and told him that he was sorry, but the other person that was supposed to meet with us had to cancel. (His email seemed to work then...lol)
I just say be careful. Get it in writing and be firm in your choices. Don't let him decide what your day looks like.
Beautiful place though (in the pics).
Great value for the price!. We had our wedding there and everything went over fantastic. It is a great value for the price. We looked at every venue. We even looked at the Cityplace venue noted by another reader. It may have a nice view, but it is now where near the price for level two. Our guests raved about the food, which I loved. I loved the owner, Jim. He was very upfront with costs and served as a partial wedding coordinator. He made the wedding planning process very easy. Our DJ fell through at the last second, and he said that his sister might be able to do it. She was about $200.00 cheaper than our other option. He handed us a bottle of champagne at the end of the night and sent us on our way. My wife and I still talk about how much we love that place.
Fabulous Place for Wedding Reception. Level Two is truly a unique facility for a wedding reception or any other private event. The location can't be beat and there is a huge parking lot so you don't have to worry about having plenty of parking spaces for your guests. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. I was very pleased with the assistance I received from the owner. He is very accommodating and his years of experience made me feel very secure that my reception would be a success. Level Two caters the food and it was delicious!!! The price can't be beat - I checked many locations such as hotels and other private party facilities and Level Two's costs were much lower. I was thrilled with the way my reception was handled and I wouldn't change a thing about it. It was so much fun and my guests are still commenting about it being the best reception they have ever attended. In fact, two friends are now planning to have events there. I can't say enough about Level Two. Check it out - you won't be disappointed!
Great place for Weddings.
We recently had our wedding reception at Level Two and we couldn't have asked for anything more special. Every detail was taken care of by Jim and his staff. My guests are still talking about what a great reception we had and the enjoyable evening...from the service, food, and music.

Beautiful place, bad owner.
First, the location is pretty cool, with brick walls and floors and low lighting it was the perfect atmosphere for our reception. However, the owner Jim is tough to deal with. First, he talks non-stop so while you're doing the planning it's hard to get a word in yourself. He's been there, done that and knows exactly how to do this! HA! He doesn't really care what you're wanting for YOUR reception. We hired our own DJ rather than using his sister, but that didn't stop him from butting in and organizing all the men to serenade the bride with "You've Lost That Loving Feeling". I get it, Tom Cruise/Top Gun, etc. But is that really an appropriate song for a WEDDING?? Also, at Jim's suggestion we had our cake vendor order to-go boxes for the leftover cake so our guests could take some home with them at the end of the night. First, when my elderly, ill grandmother was ready to leave my mother (the mother of the bride) asked Jim to please have the servers box up some cake for my grandparents to take home with them he told her it was too early to do that and dismissed her completely! Second, later in the evening when I approached him about boxing up cake for people as it was getting late and people were starting to leave he informed me that the boxes were not delivered with the cake. I checked the next week with the bakery and she insisted (and double checked) that they were delivered with the cake and were under the cake table the whole time. It was never resolved whether or not the boxes were there, but I'm inclined to believe the bakery. Last but not least, when Jim decided it was time to cut the cake he went and advised the bride. She asked him to wait ten minutes. He insisted it couldn't wait and she had to get it going NOW.
This place would be perfect if only Jim would sell the location to someone decent, or BUTT THE HECK OUT of the event the place would be a FIVE in our book.

Do not plan an event at this facility. The owner is only interested in the money. I paid a $1000.00 deposit and tried to change the original date to an earlier date that was available. The owner said I could only change the date if I forfeited my initial deposit of $1000.00 and paid him an additional $1000.00. Plus, I was changing from a Saturday to a Friday.
Again, I would like to warn people away from using this facility. I have talked to other people since my daughter's wedding a year ago that used this place and they were not happy. Once the deposit is paid the owner is rude and not helpful. We needed to move the date because my other daughter (who was the Maid of Honor and living in Japan with her husband who is a pilot in the Air Force) became pregnant. The original date of the wedding was too close to her due date and she would not be able to fly all the way home. So we needed to move the wedding date up. Again, we wanted to move the date to a date that was open. And even on a Friday. This left him with a Saturday date open that he could then fill. He would not let us use the initial deposit and wanted another $1000 added on to the total price. I could see the hand writing on the wall and new it was only going to go down hill from there. I told him to keep my $1000 and booked at City Place. We had a wonderful experience there and the people could not have been nicer. It ended up being about the same price and was a much better location. Again, buyer beware!
