GREYHOUND BUS LINES: DANGEROUS, DIRTY AND DERELICT.
To say that one wouldn't wish Greyhound on your worst enemy is a gross understatement. Unfortunately for the unwashed, unemployed and uninspired, the essential service of inter-city Greyhound service is the only option...also included students, seniors and non-car owners.
First, Greyhound is an open threat to your life with many of the drivers being grossly under qualified. Serious accidents that involve fatalities are more commonplace than Greyhound lets on. Just do a little research....you will be alarmed.
Second, Greyhound cannot be relied on in any sense to maintain a schedule. So if you are considering using Greyhound to get to work, or a connecting bus or flight..DON'T!!! you will regret it. I speak from experience.
Third, Greyhound routinely loses baggage. They do this ALL THE TIME!! Once you try to claim for lost luggage you are in for the fight of your life. I know, they lost over 6000.00 worth of climbing equipment and it took me 1.5 years to sort out the claim.
Fourth, the staff employed by Greyhound are a collection of the most ignorant, rude, arrogant, incompetent and in some cases, vicious and spiteful, persons ever employed in the transportation industry. Trust me, I speak from experience.
Fifth, Greyhound bus stations are frequented by some very very dangerous people including drug dealers, pimps, child predators, whores, crack addicts, bums, winos and thieves. All of these low-lives openly threaten, assault, accost and ripoff Greyhound passengers in plain view of Greyhound employees and management. Nothing is ever done!! In fact people are murdered and robbed in not only the stations themselves but the washrooms. Greyhound bus stations are extremely dangerous places. Beware!!!!
Sixth, The senior corporate offices of Greyhound are in constant and direct conflict with virtually all of its lower management and employees. The end result is passengers are caught in the middle and are purposely run roughshod over in order to create confrontation and conflict.
Seventh, The parcel express service is just as bad with Greyhound employees regularly using packages as footballs or soccer balls. They do this right in the open with great enthusiasm. As for packages arriving at their final destination undamaged and on time.....virtually impossible.
In closing. Do not ever take Greyhound...FOR ANY REASON. If you are even considering sending an employee or loved one on a Greyhound ....DON'T!!! PLEASE DON'T!!!...WHATEVER YOU DO, FIND ANY OTHER MODE OF TRANSPORTATION.!!!...IT MOST LIKELY IS A MATTER OF LIFE AND DEATH.

IT HAS COME A LONG WAY FOR THE BETTER. AT A B GRADE NOW - - ABOUT TO REACH A A..... I have been reading with keen interest the comments regarding Greyhound Bus Lines, Inc. and the way they conduct business. I've taken the bus may times in my lifetime which for me dates back to about 1970. This was a time when I was able to ride alone. Yes things have changed with that company over the years, but many companies have had changes throughout the years also. As many who will read this do know no company, or business always is on time. Yes other bus companies have lost passengers baggage also. Yes other bus companies have had some customer service people who have not lived up to the position. And yes other bus companies besides Greyhound have experienced a occasional driver who is rude to a paying passenger. This is wrong yes. As some might have caught on now while reading this review I'm a driver for Greyhound Lines, Inc. I've driven for them for seven years now. Sometimes this job does get stressful,but having also worked in the legal field when I was a younger adult Greyhound to me is heaven. I welcome any person to make any negative comments about Greyhound until one walks in the experience of a driver especially. Drive two years at least for Greyhound readers and force yourself to be as kind as possible to paying passengers. Some will have a problem doing this as when stress comes upon them kindness goes out the door. Thank you.
Mobile Al. restroom unacceptable..

My wife and I traveled from Ft. Walton Beach to Louisville, KY. All of your employees and drivers were very courteous and knowledgeable. One complaint, your Mobile, AL. ladies restroom was very bad, 2 inches of water and... on the floor. All other restrooms very certainly acceptable. No problems with luggage.

Don't let Greyhound do the driving, find something else..
It's time Greyhound was held accountable, so I'm putting this action together to get everyone who has ever had trouble with Greyhound's bus system to call and complain about their operating procedures, lack of customer service, amount of lost baggage, and anything else you can think of that you, or anyone you may know, want to address with Greyhound Lines, Inc.
Action Dates: June 23 through 27, 2008
Action Time: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Central Standard Time (so adjust the times for your time zone.)
Post this information in your Blog, on Message Boards, on Forums, or email it to your friends. Then call, sends letters, creates picket lines outside your local Greyhound station, fax Greyhound and Laidlaw in June.
