Great Great Great Food!. This place is becoming, by far, one of my favorite restaurants in the entire state!! I've been around long enough to know a thing or two spottin something special when it comes a long..... and let me tell you --- This place hits the nail on the head! Their steaks are all very different and all very good. The Mac and Cheese is to die for. The deserts are mouthwatering. The history of the Ranch for which this place was named is unparralled. The only thing I don't absolutely love is the Mashed Potatoes... But my late husband loved them, so maybe give them a try and decide for yourself. Overall though, I'm tellin ya, this is one heck of a place. Here's a "Thank ya Darlin" to whoever's idea this place was. Yall do a good job so stick to your guns.

Darn good staek. What makes a steakhouse in texas a true steakhouse? Well, go to YO Ranch and you will see. Lots of shoices in dallas for a steakhouse, but never will you find a finer example of what a steakhouse in texas should be. They also have wild game, staeks ( of course), fish and a full catering facility as well as party rooms for what looked like 200+. So weather you are a tourist looking for a great steak in dallas or just a local like me that love to pretend she is in need of tourist information on steaks this is a fantastic place and the price woun't break you either :)

O.K. Steak House. Very small bar area!! If the stools are all occupied, then you have a one foot space to stand for a drink. The location is great (West End Historic District), which has a lot of other bars you can go to before or after having dinner here. I had the Cowboy bone-in Ribeye cooked med. It was a "good" piece, not the greatest but "good". It could have been more tender in the sections that where away from the bone, maybe it needed to contain more marbling or to be aged more. But the section closest to the bone were to die for! My Wife had the halibut but we sent it back because it was way too fishy. NOW here is where Y.O. shows it is a great place; the halibut was taken back w/no questions, only apologies. The waiter then asked what dish would my Wife like instead. She ordered the chicken in a mushroom reduction sauce that was excellent. When the check arrived, I saw that the didn't charge us for the halibut nor the chicken replacement. The waiter explained that their fish is always fresh and never frozen. Hey, it happens. We where in Dallas for the NY Giants vs Cowboys game in December 2008 plus celebrating my 40th. Y.O. gave me a slice of their chocolate cake from their dessert menu; very good. I will be back!

Amazing Buffalo Filet Mignon. The buffalo filet mignon was the most tender piece of meat I have ever eaten. Grilled over mesquite medium rare, I literally was able to cut this fine filet with a fork. The meat had the most pleasant aroma of mesquite wood. The baked potato also had a strong mesquite smoky flavor and I learned that YO bakes their tators over mesquite for 4 hours. Never had a baked potato so good and I am not a baked potato fan usually. Grilled spinach was an excellent side dish. A very good wine list, I had a very good Texas cabernet sauvignon which pleasantly surprised me because I never associated Texas with great wine.

INCREDIBLY Overpriced. Mediocre service.. By far the biggest negative item here are the prices. Approx $40 for a charred, fatty ribeye. We were in a large group and they recommended their "special appetizer" which was 3 pizza pans of something that looked inedible. It was cornbread with cheese, 4 shrimp, 2 small pieces of boar sausage, and tiny quail legs. It was $110!!! Tasted ok, but $110? My wedge salad was SWIMMING in bleu cheese dressing. Our server was a bit too glib. At least my martini was good but it isn't too hard to pour vodka in a shaker. Stay away from this place it just isn't worth it.

Best All Around Dinning Experience You Can Have In The West End or The West!. Love everything about the Y.O., the food is superb, the service is friendly and the atmosphire is authentic Texas. It is like no other steakhouse in Dallas and that is what makes it unique!

You gotta' try it, cause you are gonna' like it, Partner!

Come live the Legend at the Y.O. Ranch Steakhouse. The thing about Dallas is there are too many places that try to pass themselves off as authentic, down-home western spots. If you want the "real McCoy," Y.O. Ranch Steakhouse is about as authentic as they come. Owner Charles Schreiner IV is part of the Y.O. Ranch family located in the Hill Country of Central Texas. The menu reflects everything indigenous to the Lone Star State. If it roams the range, chances are you'll find it on the menu. There's plenty of steak, but what makes Y.O. unique are the game meat entrees like venison, quail, buffalo mignon and elk chops. Out-of-town guests will love the bucolic atmosphere with old photos of life on the ranch, ropes, saddles and other rustic relics. Head on down in a pair a jeans and your most comfortable sport coat, grab a beer, and soak up some genuine Texas flavor.
