Aweasome Place. Very Casual but very cool. Gumbo, Fried Catfish, Hush Puppies, and Cevichi is all great! You can also get the grilled talipa with veggies if your looking for something healthy. Good outdoor seating, beer and wine available also. Go try it!

WHAT HAPPENED. ME AND 5 OTHER OF MY WORK COLEGES WENT FOR LUNCH AND EVERYTHING WAS GOOD EXCEPT THE FISH WAS NOT HOT. ACTUALLY, WE ALL DETERMINED THAT IT WAS MORE LIKE ROOM TEMPERATURE. THAT WAS A REAL TURNOFF CONSIDERING IT WAS 3 OF US VISITING THE RESTAURANT FOR THE FIRST TIME.

WE COULD NOT UNDERSTAND WHY THIS WAS SO, CONSIDERING IT WAS LUNCHTIME.

ALL WE ASK IS TO BE MORE CAREFUL IN THE FUTURE BECAUSE WE DID SPEND ON AN AVERAGE OF $9.00 PER INDIVIDUAL.

Shabby not-so-chic shipwreck memorabilia meets delicious fried catfish at this down-home shack in Uptown.. In Short
This bustling Uptown seafood house never saw a boat motor unfit for display on its rusted porch. The calculated decay includes spare fishing boat parts and fishing rods. The petite shack is packed during evenings and weekends and for good reason--perfectly crisp and never greasy baskets teeming with cornmeal encrusted shrimp, catfish, and oysters. The menu also includes grilled trout, salmon, and tilapia as well as burgers and Po' Boys.

Quality Seafood - Casual Setting. No frills or pretense here, it is what it is and that is really good grilled & fried seafood. Quality seafood, generous portions and great value are what keeps a line at the door most weekdays at lunchtime. A pet peeve of mine is ordering fried shrimp dishes in restaurants that serve shrimp the size of quarters, encased in thick, greasy, gloppy batter and then they're stingy with the amount to boot. The fried shrimp at Hook, Line & Sinker are truly jumbo shrimp, butterflied and in the most delicate of a crispy cornmeal batter. The fried catfish is equally as delectable and the grilled shrimp and fish dishes are also fresh and done to perfection. The spicy shrimp cocktail is a a definite winner. You place your order at the counter and then have the option of eating in the indoors dining room or out on the patio. Most people don't mind the wait, the line moves fast and the staff is efficient. If you're looking to be pampered and coddled this isn't the place for you. If your looking for some really good seafood at a great value you'll love Hook, Line & Sinker.
