Editorial Review for Patrizio – by Jeff Speicher
The Scene
Patrizio is a larger version of a villa that might be found in Italy; Oriental carpets are scattered over terrazzo floors in both the large dining area and a smaller pavilion. Late Renaissance paintings hang from clean white walls with intricate crown moldings. Large glass archways lead to an expansive brick patio with yellow awnings and hunter-green patio umbrellas covering each table.
The Food
Crab claws in melted butter are a good start. Tortellini pesto is a wonderful blend of pasta and sun-dried tomatoes in a creamy tomato-pesto sauce. Pasta Lazio mingles bow-tie pasta with crumbly feta cheese, black olives, pine nuts and mushrooms. The open-faced ravioli is a large, folded pasta stuffed with a zesty combination of artichoke, asparagus, mushroom and roasted pepper. Most entrees are served in a velvety wine-butter sauce and offer incredible value.

if you are the type of person that likes to spend your money at establishments that take care of their employees, then patrizios is not the place for you. the management at patrizio's is getting rid of their best employees with no warning or explanation whatsoever. they are sneaky and slimy and have no regard for others.

I've been dining at Patrizios for several years now, and in my opinion it's one of the best restaurants in Dallas. It's hard to beat drinking a frozen peach bellini while sitting under the huge leafy oak tree on their outdoor patio- and the inside is just as cozy and inviting. Whenever I have guests in from out of town, I always bring them to Patrizios. In addition to offering consistently delicious food at prices that are more than reasonable, I have always found the service to be impeccable. I noticed a review on this site that smears manager Patrick Johnson, but I have found him to be especially gracious- he even remembers my husband and I by name. I just can't say enough good things about this fabulous Dallas dining institution. It's wonderful!
Pros: Ambience, Service, Food, Pricepoints, Valet parking, HP Village window shopping
Cons: Often a wait- but it's worth it (and that's what the bar is for!)
