After the waiter clumsily knocked over a full glass of water into my date's lap, I thought they would at least give us complimentary drinks if not the whole meal or discount on our next visit. But they did not. Not very hospitable, in my opinion.
The chicken Caesar salad was good as was the pizza. But the bruschetta was more like a French bread pizza. Very disappointing. Because of the management's failure to adequately show their remorse for the accident and compensate us for our distress and discomfort, I will not be back.
Lasagna and French Fries, Yum!. I agree. The lasagna is wonderful. If you arent that hungry the fries are delicious and perfectly crisp. If you visit more then once chances are Ted will recognize you and have you set up with your favorite drink, table, and dinner already ordered. It is very welcoming!
This cozy Brooklyn-style neighborhood restaurant offers a taste of New York at a great price..
The Scene
Almost 20 images of the "Mona Lisa" keep watch over brick archway niches that frame floral arrangements and dimly lit sconces. A subtle burgundy covers booths that hug the walls and tables for four. An attentive waitstaff traverses the wall-to-wall carpeting that mutes the conversations of groups medium and small, young and old from the Park Cities and North Dallas.
The Food
Get the red-sauce dish out of the way early with the zesty pizza nachos, because the forte here is the cream sauce pasta combinations that include shrimp, chicken, veal and eggplant. The chicken Aristocrat is a perfectly textured taste duo with two tender chicken breasts and grilled eggplant smothered with mozzarella cheese served on a bed of creamy fettuccine. For the more traditional palate, linguini with clams comes in a garlic white or marinara sauce.
