About two month ago I brought a ladies bag and a pair of shoes to the store for repair. One week later I returned to the store to pick up both items. The shoes were repaired, the bag could not be found. The lady attending interpreted, that the bag might not have been finished. I decided to take the bag unrepaired. After one hour wait the attendant explained that she can't find the bag but would call me asap. Two weeks later after having not received any call, I called the store. One of the owners (Harry) said, that they have not found the bag, but that one of the employees was on vacation and might know about the bag. Again I was told that I would receive a call and that something like this never happened before. Another two weeks later - again after not having received any call - I called again and this time was connected with the other owner (Jimmy) who explained that the bag could not be found and might have been given to another customer; this would be a "normal" mistake, which happens 4 to 5 times a year; however the store offers to pay for it. Another week later my husband visited the store and talked to Jimmy. This time one of the explanations was that the bag might just have been thrown away. I do not understand how a bag can be lost in a store. From my point of view the only explanation is that somebody has taken the bag purposefully and that the storeowner just does not care to really find the bag. I could not see any real initiative from the owners including communication between them to really find and return the bag. Offering to pay seems to be the "easy way out". The bag has very special design and a personal value to me that cannot be recovered and I have not received any acceptable explanation from the owner. At another event around six months ago some accessories that belonged to boots I had to repair at the same store were lost, but found again after some search.

Pros: good quality work

Cons: looses customer objects - no indication of real customer care

At the referral of Gregory's at Galleria Dallas, I took a pair of $300 boots to Deno's to have the shaft taken in (it was too wide). The work was flawless and was done in under 2 weeks. It costs about $45-$55 to have it done, based on the material. The staff is polite and attentive and they take pride in their work. I take all of my boots there for alterations and care.

Pros: Excellent service and workmanship

Cons: It's in Highland Park Village and traffic is a monster.
