What People Are Saying About Dickey's Barbecue Pit

In Short – Patrons walk in and casually order at the counter, then settle at one of the wooden tables. Popular for a quick lunch as well as a full dinner, the menu offers choices in meats: beef brisket, pulled pork and ribs, sausages and smoked turkey. Cold salads and hot sides such as fried okra and barbecued beans complement the meats. Large groups take advantage of family meal packs that feed up to six.

Not great but not the worst

I've tried it out twice. NOT IMPRESSED. Coming from Kansas City I have pretty high expectations when it comes to BBQ and this place could not cut it at all. For one, they dont even smoke the meat on location so there goes fresh right out the window the sauce is pretty good though. The service is mediocre. The second time I went there they forgot my order. After 20min of waiting at my table patiently a clerk came by to ask if all was well and I asked if it would be much longer on the food. I guess it is what you could expect from a chain/franchise type BBQ restraunt but I think Dallas has more to offer when it comes to BBQ. I will keep looking.
