Your food sit's there and get's cold !!. I'm tired of sitting at a bar and ordering lunch and the bar tender has to tend bar plus handle all of the customers outside the bar and your food just sits there and get's get cold and then you get a $30.00 bill for a few beers and a burger and then have to tip. This is the manager's fault not the bartenders ! I'm sick of it and not ordering food anymore there !…
Laid Back, Great Selection & Nice Big Patio.
OH ZONA!
Love this place.... why?? When its 80 degrees with a cool breeze and sun in the blue sky and a huge patio area with lots of old trees overhead and many other covered options, it's a great place to hang, have a variety of American & Tex-Mex food for not much dinero and fairly strong drinks. It is awesome in the wintertime too with the outdoor fireplace. Been many times and can's say that the food has never been bad! Service has not ever been bad either. Not sure how people on here gave such bad reviews but maybe they only dine at snobby uppity places and their experience was because they usually dine at Abacus???
Anyway, today I went for lunch and my friend and I had the crispy, salt-pepper seasoned tortilla chips with the woodsy salsa and a plate of fresh and chunky guacamole. The basket of chips was quite large for just 2 people but then the plates are generous too. My friend got the lunch-size chicken fried steak with homemade french fries and a nice heap of country gravy over the crispy edged chicken fried steak and a not so exciting house salad. He was quiet so I knew he was enjoying it!
I decided after splurging on chips, salsa, and guac I would get a grilled chicken sandwich but for some reason I had to have guacamole on it... I could have just added the appetizer onto the sandwich but whatever! Can't have too much of the guac!! And there were those yummy handmade crispy (on the outside soft on the inside) french fries also seasoned with just the right amount of salt and pepper. So much food it's probably a good thing it was lunchtime---where would I fit those fabulous margaritas??
I will be back again and again!…
Not so great. I have freinds that enjoy going here for brunch. My husband and I have been with them several times and don't find it a great experience. As others have said the service is very slow and often you have to ask more than once for the same item. The food.... I do it better at home, and I'm average. If you get there close to 2PM, you're likely to be told they have quit serving brunch even if you are seated and ordering before 2PM. Last time this was the case so we ordered lunch. I had french onion soup. The worst most bland french onion soup ever. Next time they want to go to Ozona I think we'll pass and find an enjoyable brunch. Too bad they truly do have a lot of potential.…
Nice atmosphere, good first experience. Saturday was my first visit to Ozona. First impression - WOW, what a great patio area. We chose to sit inside however due to the humidity. Nice atmosphere there also. We arrived around 1015a so the place was not too crowded. My friend chose the Bloody Mary bar and I ordered a Mimosa. Both drinks were good and inexpensive. Opting for brunch, I had the Eggs Benedict, and my friend had the Egg Casserole. We both rated our food as very good. Our waiter provided prompt service; only slight burp was that he brought the check before we were through eating, not asking if we'd like anything else. We both agreed we'd like to come back and try some other menu items. The variety in the menu does cause some caution - how can any restaurant do both Mexican Food and Catfish well? We'll see !!!…
Not an impressive brunch. Note: This is only a review for breakfast/lunch. Stay home. There is nothing here that you cannot make at home. Save your money, and sit on the porch if you'd like to be outside. Atmosphere looks nice, probably nice at night if not too loud.…
