The Scene – This small, yet roomy, restaurant combines rich, vibrant colors with blond woods. A pagoda frieze lords over the bar. A Thai gong and dancing porcelain figurines inhabit cubbyholes. A sculpture of a parasol, seemingly plucked from an exotic drink, holds court in the middle of the room. Hostesses wear modern takes on traditional Thai dress in shades of emerald, crimson and sapphire. – – The Food – Sweet corn patties are light and flaky, with a sweet-and-sour chili-cucumber sauce that brightens without cloying. The tom yahm gai is a spicy soup; kaffir lime…
Solid Thai food with great service

Good Thai food with outstanding service. The soft shell crab dish was good and a mixed seafood dish was excellent. Very short wait on a Friday night. The service was very prompt and attentive.
- Pros: Service, seafood
Nice Place-great food

We always go to Royal Thai for our Thai food craving. The place as always is pretty crowded but 10-15 mins is the longest we have to wait. The service is good, the servers wear the traditional Thai gowns and they're friendly. For appetizers, we always get the Corn Patties or the golden sack ( fried curry puff ), for the entrees, we recommend the Tiger Tears ( skirt steak) with papaya salad and sticky rice, or the duck curry. The sweet sticky rice with coconut or mango is also good for our dessert. well, keep it up Royal Thai, we always come back for more
- Pros: Good ambiance, good service, excellent food
- Cons: Too crowded sometimes
The worst Thai restaurant with the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER
by star29429
We had a group of 7 visit this restaurant. First of all the restaurant was empty and they refused to sit our party because one member had not shown up yet. I mean come on if the restaurant was empty I would understand but they had the table ready for us and just wouldn't sit us down. I guess finally they realized how ridiculous it was that they sat us down after waiting forever. I don't know if the waitress was in a bad mood or something but she never once smiled or said anything. Even when she was taking our orders she would sigh and seemed mad. When our orders came out our group was praying and she just started to put the food down and knocked over 2 peoples silverware on the floor and almost their water. She never once apologized and she ruined our group prayer before the meal. Then during the meal she not once came and asked how we were doing or refilled our drinks. We ONLY saw her 3 times total once to take the orders, once to bring the food out and then to bring our checks. Never once did she say a word. The food was also not good at all. Very greasy basil noodles, very very sweet pad thai, and the massaman curry was very flavorless. I can't believe this place still is in business. I really really can't believe people think this is the "best thai place" because it should be labeled "WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THAI FOOD IN DALLAS."
- Pros: nice ambience
- Cons: bad food, bad customer service
