Excellent place the have here! The fish they serve are undeniably fresh. The staff will serve with a smile and the way the place can get crowded is always a great sign of fun!

We love this place... For anyone who has not tried out this great place, you better get there ASAP. Besides the fact that the food is awesome, the waitstaff is wonderful. If you are lucky enough to get Kelly as a server you are going to get the best treatment ever. Kelly and Mikey work together on Sunday nights and it is our favorite time to go in and get our cajun fix. Thanks Dodies for such great food and the best two waitresses in Texas.

Great New Orleans grub in Dallas. The BEST fried Oysters anywhere bar none, the staff is attentive and extremely friendly, this place has a cult neighborhood following and the locals know why. Cold beers and authentic cajun style food, their no mayo cole slaw is full of fresh garlic and unique I have purchased a quart to go-- who gets cole slaw to go yep it's that good.

Excellent food & service. My girlfriend and I ate here twice(!) on an overnight trip to Dallas (dinner one night and lunch the next day.) We tried a lot of things: marinated crab claws, famous slaw, raw oysters, grilled oysters (so good!), seafood gumbo, house salad, fried catfish, blackened shrimp, jambalaya (my favorite), fish tacos. We were impressed with every single thing we tried. If you've never had grilled oysters, try them here! The only thing we didn't try, but wanted to, was the bread pudding. We were just too full.

The place was awesome! The service was so great. We had about three different waitresses, but they were all so nice, kept checking on us, and we never went without anything. It wasn't busy at all. We'll definitely be heading back to Dodie's each time we go to Dallas.

Big flavor and a special sauce.. Yes! This is really one of my all-time favorite Dallas joints. If you love seafood and don't mind a little spice, then get to Dodie's. The lower Greenville location is a great place to kick back and fill your belly. My top picks are the Oyster Po'boy which is served on a freshly toasted baguette with a heaping helping of fried oysters with all the trimmings. It's a hearty meal! My next choice is not on the menu regularly but you can ask for it. It's the Crab and Shrimp Fondue. It's yummy, gooey heaven and they serve it with a warm baguette for around $10. You can do it as an appetizer but I often get it as my meal. You've got to try their slaw, which is packed with garlic and more garlic. It's spicy, tangy, very crunchy and comes complimentary with many of the entrees. Another favorite is the Blackened Catfish Combo with Catfish and Shrimp. It's served with a huge portion of well seasoned fries that you won't be able to stop eating. Come hungry and leave satisfied. *Tip* Dodie's make their own hot sauce and you can buy it in a bottle to take home. The greatest part is that you can bring it back for free refills!!! We put it on so many things... pasta, seafood, eggs and more.

Since 1989, this family-owned Greenville Avenue gem has dished the best of the Big Easy in Big D.. The Scene
The motto here is: "You Don't Hafta Go to New Orleans," and you don't. Posters, neon and newspaper clippings pay homage to LSU, Cajuns, jazz and N'awlins itself on the bright yellow walls. The dining room has fewer than 20 tables and tends to fill up. Raw oyster platters are popular. The seafood gumbo is a well-proportioned mix of roux, shrimp, okra and spices. Cajun tamales marry fried jalapenos with sweet crab.

Great Gumbo. Dodie's Gumbo may be the best I've had outside of New Orleans. I have also tried other things including the fried oysters and a soft shell crab po boy. Those were above average by nothing really special. I've already gone back for a bow of seafood gumbo and will do so again.
