not good.
Went the other night. The bar is not stocked. so unless you want
an average tasting margerita you are out of luck. The meat for the fajitas was
dry and not juicy at all (had beef and chicken). I have actually had
better fajitas at places like Bennigan's and TGI Fridays! Tortillas
are bland...you can tell they are store bought (then again i have had
better tasting store bought). Most places have hand or machine made fresh tortillas.
Chips are greasy/stale. Salsa very average tasting.
This place is really going downhill fast. There is usually a reason why a place
has few customers inside eating.
Best Tex-Mex in Oak Cliff.
We have been eating at Tejano Mexican Restaurant over 30 years. We have moved to Cedar Hill, TX but we travel to Tejano's because of the great service and Tex-Mex.
We go to Tejano Mexican Restaurant on good times and sad times.
Sam and Martin will come by and take the time to talk to you to make sure that your dinner is Hot & Fresh and to visit with you.
Tejano Mexican Restaurant is the best ever for price & service.

worst restaurant i've ever been to. awful i will never go to this restaurant ever . i use to go quite often then the food started to change so i stoped going. well on mothers day i decided to give it a try to see if things got any better god i should of gone to taco bell. well 1st let me say that we had a waitress that didnt even give ok service we had to get up for stuff had to wait on refills and i ordered a beef taco dinner that had a huge piece of rock in it well i just took it out and didnt make a big deal about it. well then we got our ticket we were forced to pay the 18% of a party of 5 . well when it was time to pay i went to the front to go pay and the cashier asked if everything was ok and i said yes because i'm not the type to complain. well i said "yes" then i said in a polite way " let me ask you a question do you add 18% on parties of 5 or more" and she said "ya we do" so i left it at that and i said "thank you" then i went to sit down. well when we were leaving i went to the table that the cashier was at and i put the rock on the table and said " do me a favor and give this to the chef let him know that it was in my taco" and i couldnt belive what happened next the rude cashier told me "wel you should of told your waitress" and i said " well she was never around so i'm brought it to you" and she said well thats not my problem and from ther it just got worse. oh my god i can belive what happened. bad customer service bad attitude bad food bad waitress and bad manager.he did nothing to make it better he just said " well it over i cant do anything now" WHAT OMG that why the restaurant was dead on mothers day. i run a rest. that my mother ownes and that is no way to treat your customers.i will use this story and tell ALL my friends, family and customers about my expiriance and encourage them not to support that awful restaurant. i hope this has helped you if you are a newbie thinking of going to this awful awful restaurant. i hate saying this but the only good person there is / was ( i dont know if he is still there ) the older gentleman that wheres a bow tie he is just so nice thats the only reason i gave it a try knowing the food was bad
Fabulous Authentic Tex-Mex!.
If you want a lively atmosphere, great food at a great price, with the best host in town, this is the place!
The portions are very generous & they have a huge selection of items to choose from. As soon as you are seated someone comes over with warm chips & fresh hot sauce with just the right amount of cilantro.
We ordered the appetizer plate which was also amazing! There were quesadillas, nachos, chicken breaded peppers, fresh guacamole & sour cream. The nachos were crispy with just the right amount of melted cheese. I had the beef chili relleno with sour cream sauce. It was very good. They also have great
seafood enchiladas with shrimp on top. Try the 7 layer special cheese dip or the chicken guizo!
There are so many delicious dishes it's hard to choose! Don't leave without dessert! They have great
fried ice cream, flan, sopapillas,& home made candy on the way out! After you leave go two blocks down
to the historic Bishop Arts District and shop at the quaint little boutiques! Great way to spend a Saturday!
The service is fast, they have a full bar, big screen TV'S , strolling musicians, all you need for a great date night! Also kid friendly!
PASS IT BY,DONT STOP!! Mexican Food in Oak Cliff. Food VERY POOR IN TASTE. Sonora enchiladas was cold spiced upped pizza sauce, chips and salsa ...pace beats you guys hands down, Sad to know old favorite is not the same. folks this place no longer serves the fare[food-comida] they were known for. you can find better tacos on Jefferson street corners than here!! sorry but 25 bucks spent were not worth it.should gone to Pancho's.
An every now and then..... This used to be the place to go, but since they've decided to raise the prices and give less portions, its an every now and then place.. Really disappointed that they got greedy! Food is good but when the bill arrives it becomes mediocore, considering...
soup!.
when i was in cozumel i became addicted to mexican style chicken soup. my search for the best soup of that style ended when i ordered the soup from tejano. fresh, clean, and good for the soul!
be careful with the margarita's though. drink them slowly!
They Got It Wrong!. Ordered Sonora Enchiladas based on D Magazine's "Best Enchiladas 2007" recommendation. They were lousy--stringy, tough beef and sauce with no flavor but tomato. Other entrees (fajitas and caldo de res) were much better.
Great TEX-MEX!!. No pretense here, this legendary Oak Cliff eatery is what it is, which is the definitive of "tex-mex" fare. The food is tasty and consistent. The sour cream chicken enchaladas are addictive. Great fajitas also. Mariachi's usually perform evenings and weekends. Sam, the owner, is always there to give one the history of Tejanos if asked, and always has a friendly word for his patrons. This personal attention plus a large seating capacity, fast efficient service and moderate pricing make Tejanos the most bang for your tex-mex buck anywhere. Full bar.
