Very Authentic Mexican food.
I had to rate this well because of the authenticity alone. Very well done. I took some friends here and they absolutely loved it!

I absolutely LOVE this place.
This is the ideal place to visit if you have never had authentic mexican food. Its original from its atmosphere to its dishes. One of my absolute favorite plates is the Guiso Norteno with their home made flour tortillas MMMMM!!!! They have live Mariachis EVERY night so it can be very fun for lively nights from the chubby men in tight gold embezzled suits and disco lights to a great place to pop in for a quick lunch (great prices on lunch specials). Another recommendation is the FRESH FRUIT margaritas from watermelon to guayava...deeelicious! They also make their own homemade fresh fruit beverages, non alcoholic, like lemonade and horchata, very refreshing. They are very well known for their grilled BABY GOAT with all the fixings, its a known popular dish in Monterrey Mexico and also one of my favorites with their MOCAJETE SALSA. Hope you make it to the south of the Trinity River for El Ranchito because if you havent youve been very deprived!

Authentic Mexican Food!.
This place is very festive and fun, quite an experience on a weekend night with the mariachis playing and a full restaurant. But the food is superb, with Cabrito on the menu and another one of my favorites is the Plato Especial, that has tons of meat on a mini grill for your table. They also have great lunch specials during the week, so if you're looking for a quick bite, it's the place to go. You can't go wrong with the Milanesa or Enchiladas Suisas either! Delicious tex mex!

The Real Thing.
This is the real deal, complete with cabritto grilling on hibachis at the table. Mariachis stroll around and the decor is like a lodge with lots of heavy wood furnishings and the wagon wheel chandiliers. A fun and moderatly priced restaurant.

Mex-mex restaurateurs take their tacos to South Dallas..
In Short
Oscar and Laura Sanchez are riding the success of their first restaurant, La Calle Doce, into a second spot in South Oak Cliff. El Ranchito sports a festive Latin interior with bold colors and a mariachi band that serenades nightly. The freshly made flour tortillas are top-notch and go well with the authentic northern Mexican fare. Considered a delicacy in Mexico, the cabrita a la parilla is grilled baby goat served with beans and rice while some Tex-Mex like fajitas and quesadillas are on the menu as well.

el Ranchito - still a bargan.
After many years el Ranchito offers great atmosphere, wonderful food and prompt service in the heart of downtown Oak Cliff. You can even have a beer with your Unicard!
