In Short – Since opening in 2001, this cozy spot became a neighborhood draw almost immediately. The medium-sized dining room is decked out in Tex-Mex motifs; larger families fill the booths, and groups of four or less sit at tables. Waiters dart to and from the kitchen serving favorites like tacos al carbon, spicy enchiladas and steaming hot beef or chicken fajitas. The signature frozen margaritas can be swirled together with a fruity sangria mix.

Kid friendly, nice bar for hiding out without kids!

by pelliott99 at Citysearch

This is a great place to bring the family, but if you want to get away from the kids (yours, or everyone else's) then there is a separate dining area at the bar where you can duck in and have a fabulous meal and some tasty margaritas. Service is always prompt and very friendly. I don't know the manager's name, but he always recognizes us and makes it a point to say hello even when they're swamped. Great fish tacos!

  • Pros: Always friendly, inexpenisve, tasty
  • Cons: Parking spots are hard to come by

Terrible service

We love the food at this place, especially the brisket tacos on Thursdays and Saturdays. After tonight, we'll never go back...check this out: My wife ordered a half order of the nachos for dinner (which are listed at $7.50 on the menu). A few minutes after the waiter brought her nachos and my tacos, my wife changed her mind and decided she wanted the full order instead. So she asked the waiter to bring the ?other half,? which he did. When we got the bill, we saw that we were being charged for two half orders, at $7.50 each, for a total of $15, instead of the full order price of $9.50. My wife asked the waiter to correct this, so he spoke with the manager at the cash register. He came back a few minutes later saying that he couldn?t do it, and asked that we speak with the manager ourselves. So, we got up to speak with the manager at the cash register. To my shock, he was completely disagreeable, refusing to charge us for the full order instead of two half orders. This was completely ridiculous. We even explained to the man that we are regular customers and live in the neighborhood. He actually had the gall to say to us ?why didn?t you just order the full order to begin with?? I?ve never been treated so disrespectfully at a restaurant before, much less one that I patronize regularly. Finally, after further argument, he did agree to take the second half-order off our bill. While the result was acceptable, there is no reason we should have had to argue with the manager, and there is no excuse for him to have behaved so argumentatively with us.

  • Pros: Brisket tacos (special on Thurs and Sat)
  • Cons: Service is unacceptably bad

Great authentic tex-mex with a cozy atmosphere

by stepherssmu at Citysearch

Once you try the chips and homemade salsa here, you'll be hooked. We frequent this place and are often there twice a week for dinner. The service is just mediocre as they usually appear to be short-staffed, but the food is great and the drinks are too. I highly recommend the chicken enchiladas with tomatilla sauce!

  • Pros: Drinks, fresh salsa, location
  • Cons: Service, value
