The worst food we've ever eaten!! I went in Friday night and got 2 chicken enchilada dinners, 2 crispy beef tacos, and chips and queso to go. I should have taken the hint when there wasn't a single person eating here on a Friday night.
The food was expensive, coming to $35.00 for what we got. The woman at the counter was very rude.
The portions were small - especially the chips and queso - a small brown bag halfway filled up with chips and a tiny cup of queso. I brought it home and the containers even smelled gross when we opened them. The queso was very very bland - I'd rather have had Velveeta - the enchiladas were just plain gross - the chicken was gross, the tortillas were gross, and the sauce was gross. I had to remove the bite I'd taken from my mouth into a napkin. The tacos were stale and the meat tasted strange and had no flavor, the rice was not good and had no flavor, the beans were old and crusty with no flavor.
I gathered everything up and went and got my money back and they didn't seem at all surprised - like this must happen all the time. There still wasn't anyone dining when I returned for a refund. Don't waste your time or money on this place!
Our Server ANSWERED HER CELL PHONE AT OUR TABLE!!! – THE WAITRESS ANSWERED HER CELL PHONE AT OUR TABLE!!!!! Are you serious? I was FLOORED when I witnessed this. Plus she was hard to understand and was making bad jokes about the prices of drinks when she mis-quoted us. She said that it was the price she said ... "plus 1 dollar. Te he he!"
I just had a Soda while my friends ate! They said that it wasn't THAT great, but OK. My drink was all the was empty for over 5 mins and I had to go and track down my waitress to get a refill and she still took a while to get it. She said that she forgot. I was not impressed at all by this place considering that it supposable has recieved several awards and under new Management.
All and All I would NEVER recommend this place. There are plenty of other Tex Mex restaurants in the area that are much better that this place, especcially service wise. I tried to contact the Manager/Owner and they are never there.
Thin meat, high prices and bad service. – Well where can I start! I came here with some friends after work and boy was this a let down. Friday we went in and we didn't get there late in the day folks. I ordered some beers for my buddies and right away we got carded, this is ok but we do not look young. When the beer came to the table it was hot! I asked the server and they said something about how their order came in late. My friend told me that happens a lot on Friday for some reason.
It took a very long time to get our food. And when it came out my porkchop was maybe a quarter of an inch thick and chared black. Not worth the nine something they were charging let me tell you!
When we asked for a few different kinds of beer, most of it was "still warm" and we all ended up having a coors light. I runa golf course, and if I ever ran my place the way this place is run, I would have no custoers man!
Great Local Flavor – Love this little out of the way spot for great Mexican food. The fajitas with drunken beans are good, and even better with a spicy michilata. Live Latin Jazz on the weekends makes it a spot to go for a romantic and interesting date night. The pick up window is excellent for tacos on the go, they are fresh and a great blend of quick and easy yet tasty.
This Lakewood locale serves up grilled meats and a Tex-Mex experience along with an energetic music scene. – In Short
Out front, an old wagon filled with flowers is juxtaposed with the tacos-to-go window. Inside, the decor features light-accented wagon wheels and soft lamplight. Serving Tex-Mex favorites and seafood dishes like catfish seviche and tiger shrimp kabobs, this spot specializes in the food for which it was named: meats on the grill. Homemade flan is also available. Margaritas come in a large glass that could be enough for two.
