Lazy Managers and Bad customer service.
Took 35 people from my Church to Scalini's on Sunday Afternoon just to arrive there and have a "lazy" manager say that she could not serve us. I counted and saw over 40 seats available, around SEVERAL empty tables. There was no reservation from nobody else. She simply looked at me and said that she could not have everyone on one ticket, then I asked: "not one is asking to have it on one ticket, we are several different families here." She refused to serve us even after we agreed to seat scattered. She had plenty of space available in the restaurant, but she was lazy to work and in my personal opinion she was having some wine or liquor with some customers at the bar and that might be part of the reason she did not want to serve us.
Bottom line; Lazy Manager equals bad service by everyone... Horrible service at Scalini's I do not recommend this restaurant at all. Go to Olive Garden, there they will serve you with dignity, never turn your business away, and they will certainly not discriminate you because of race or anything else, which some people that were with me think she did not want to attend us because our party was mostly Hispanic.
Don't go there!!! GO to Olive Garden instead
Best pizza in Lakewood (or anywhere near). Wonderful people, great service, excellent food. You have to be a real *sshole (and the kind who would submit two reviews) to get anyone to say a discouraging word.
My favorite pizza in Dallas!. I will second the previous review in saying that person must be leaving part of the story out bc i know the owners and they bend over backwards to make sure i am comfortable, entertained and well fed every time i visit. This pizza is at the top of Dallas best Pizza in my book. The thin crust is delicious and the sauce makes my mouth water just thinking about it! The crab claws are delish and the Greek salad is wonderful as well! You can't beat tender crab claws swimming in a buttery sauce....yum :) The service is friendly and the ambiance is lovely. I highly recommend this place for a romantic evening and for great food.
Great Pizza, Great People.....
First off....I'm not sure why the negative reviewer felt the need to post his/her experience twice but anyway.....
What amazes me about this place is not just the great food, but what a loyal following this restaurant has. Go there enough and you will see plenty of recurring faces sitting down and ordering. I always enjoy my experience there and the food is always good. I highly suggest trying the crab claws.
Best Pizza in Dallas. Their pizza is hard to beat. Alao their pasta dishes are wonderful too!! Great service and easy to get into at a moment's notice
Scalini's Pizza--Boycott. I was trying to set up pizza parties for 2 departments here at our company that won for their participation in our Employee Giving Campaign. I called Scalinis pizza to order. I called early and the man I was speaking with told me he couldnt take my order and to call back. I proceeded to ask him that if I did call back would he be able to fulfill my orders in the time I needed. His response was no and that I needed to have called him a day ahead of time and that most of his customers knew that(although the website said to give at least one hour). I told him I was a customer and enjoyed his restaurant, but didnt appreciate the fact he wasnt trying to help me. He told me to go to Hell and hung up the phone. Turns out it was the owner.
I was trying to order pizza for where I work. I called Scalini'spizza on Abrams and Gaston to order pizza from them as I have always enjoyedtheir restaurant, especially their pizza. I called early and the man I poke to told me he couldn't take my order and to call back. I asked him that if I did call back would he be able to fulfill my orders in the time I needed. His response was no and that I needed to have called him a day ahead of time and that most of his customersknew that(although the website said to give at least one hour). I told him I was a customer and enjoyed his restaurant, but didn't appreciatethe fact he wasn't trying to help me. He told me to "go to Hell"and hung up. It WAS the owner of therestaurant who spoke to me that way.
Love this place. I eat here at least once a week for some meal. They have great pizza that converts diners to revist regardless the distance. They also have super cheap prices for such tasty food. Their lunch specials include entre, garlic bread ad salad for 6.95! I'll be eating their tomorrow with friends from Plano.
A small East Dallas favorite for hungry thin-crust pizza lovers..
Though this Lakewood eatery does a steady takeout business, it accommodates a small eat-in crowd with a dozen tiny tables. Pizza is the specialty, but the menu isn't limited to the fresh-from-the-oven thin-crust pie. Toasted cheese ravioli or garlic crab claws make great starters (or small meals), and all the specialties--veal, eggplant or chicken Parmesan, spaghetti, lasagna, linguine with baby clams and more--are served with a pecorino Romano-laden Italian side salad and thick garlic toast.
