New Furnace and Central Air. Wilson SVC installed our new furnace and central air in our home. They did a clean job and were very friendly. They also helped us to pick the best system for our house for energy efficiency and rebates. I would recommend Wilson SVC to anyone.…
Very Unhappy.
I used Wilson's for years and had no issues with them until last summer.
I called for an appointment for one of my A/C units and was sold a maintenance package over the phone for $249 which included 2 visits as well as 20% off any work and/or materials. I decided to take this offer because that particular A/C unit was old and probably needed work, if not replacing.
When the very young technician arrived, he appeared to be visibly nervous (his hands kept shaking like this was his first house call or something). He went outside to check the amount of coolant and promptly burned his hand; I could hear the gas escaping. Inside he took the A/C unit apart, showed me the rust on the coils and suggested I get the entire unit replaced, adding it would cost too much money to try and track down the coolant leak. He quoted me $5000 (to replace a 13 SEER, 3 ton a/c & heating unit) When I mentioned the 20% off, he told me they didn't offer that and it wasn't possible to check with the woman who sold me this package because they had four, yes four women handling calls. Excuse me? Turns out this very expensive maintance package for $249 is for 2 visits (worth $89 each) and 20% off filters and plumbing.. not A/C or heat, duh?
This week, I finally had another company come out to look at this unit again (I have 2 central A/C's with heat in my house). The first thing they noticed and showed me was a pipe which hadn't been reconnected after the unit was put back together. Fortunately we had a mild winter and I ran the heat only a few times, but there was carbon monoxide venting into the interior of my house all fall and winter!
Not only did Wilson's send over someone completely inexperienced, they sold me an expensive maintenance package which didn't discount the actual work I needed done. The worst part is I am still required to have them come out to my house once a year, otherwise they won't honor the warranty on my other heating unit which they installed. The technician told me the warranty is void if I let someone else touch that unit.
It sucks being forced to use them for another few years, but two good things have come out of this. I was put in touch with a new company by my hairdresser. They are installing a 16 SEER, 3 ton heat & air unit for only $4200 and after speaking with them, I am feeling a lot more confident... and I went out and purchased a carbon monoxide monitor for my bedroom.…
rip off! run away!!.
I just moved in to a new house and I wanted to have my heater checked before I turn it on. I called Wilson because my neighbors use them and I have seen their store front on Garland Rd.
They told me that something was wrong with my furance and it was emitting corbon monoxide. I could fix it, but it would cost around $3000 or I could buy a new furnance for $4000-$5800. They offered 12 months of interest free financing.
The next day I called three other AC/Heater companies, Bostec, Avery and Miller Service. They all told me my furnace was 10 years old and that it was in good condition. No sales pitch. I will never recommend them. I will tell all to stay away!!!!…
Over Priced. Called them in desperation and they wanted to charge us $4500! He had a payment plan prepared with interest rate prepared and all!!! No thanks! Found multiple plumbers that were charging a quarter of that price!…
Thieves!!!!!. Wilson Heating & Air Conditioning took my 89.99 and told me my air unit was unrepairable and it would cost $7400.00 for a new one. THEY REFUSED TO DO ANY REPAIRS. The man told me that another company would probably band aide it but it would break again next year. Hey WIlson Heating & Air....when a person doesn't have 7400.00 they don't have it and need the band aide. How about a refund on the service charge since it could be fixed. Oh, something else, the repair man unplugged the air conditioner in the house and then the next repairman had to find that. I called another company and it was a simple part called a float swtich or capacitor. I am a retired woman and it is 105 degrees today. Why would someone say this?? They are out to make the big bucks and not to help their customer.…
