I can't say enough good things about them! My dogs always look great and love to go there. They always go and jump in the owners lap! That's cool! Love them
I have two dog that go there all the time and love it. The staff is great and very helpful, they actually take my dogs to my car for me! WOW that's sevice
Best Groom in Town – My dogs have been groomed and boarded at Perky Poodle for 10 years! The staff genuinely loves animals and I have received beautiful grooms!
I HAVE BEEN COMING TO PERKY POODLE FOR YEARS, THIS HAS TO BE THE BEST DOG GROOMING PLACE IN DFW, THE STAFF AND GROOMERS ARE ALWAYS KNOWLEDGEABLE AND FRIENDLY I WOULD RECCOMEND ANYONE TO GO HERE IF THEY WANT THEIR DOG TO HAVE THE CUT AND CARE THEY DESERVE!!!!!
Dallas' Worst Groomer – I have used this groomer before and been pretty happy. I took my standard poodle there yesterday and the cut was great and I thought all went well. After getting home, I noticed my dog kept shaking her head and it seemed her ears were bothering her last night. This morning I checked and realized one of hers ears was caked in dried blood. After spending an hour cleaning her up, and it obviously bothered her, I called the groomer back to see what had happened. The person at the desk was different than usual and allegedly said she ask the groomer what happened and of course the groomer said "nothing". For $75, I would have liked to have known the truth. Did they just pluck too much hair, nick the inside of the ear with a shaver, or what. Lies will not get my return business.
Be safe, do not use this groomer if you value your dog!!!
Wonderful groomers! – My husband and I recently adopted a wonderful pomeranian. So for the first time, we have a dog that really needs to go see a groomer! On our first try, we tried another groomer and had a very poor experience. When I called and talked with the owner at the Perky Poodle, he was very nice and accomodating. They could take our dog that day and listened to my concerns from my other experience. When I walked in, I got the "these are good people" feeling. My little guy was perfectly at ease immediately and happy to be there. The owner got us checked in, and then I got to visit directly with the groomer who worked with my little guy. I really liked her and my dog did too! She and I talked about what I wanted and we were on the same page. When I went to pick him up, he was just as happy as when I'd left him, the trim was perfect and my dog looks and smells fantastic! I will definitely be going back and will recommend them highly based on this experience.
I LOVE THEM – I have been a client for many years and these people always do a great job for me. They know what I want and are very flexible with my schedule. I have read several reviews here and I cannot agree with the complaints because I know for a fact that they will not touch a hair on my dog without my consent. They always contact me before doing anything I didn't ask for. My dog loves them and is happy to go there and to me that is what is important.
My dog always looks great when I come get her and the groomer is always consistent with her grooms. In fact when I let her through the gate she knows who to run to and that tells me a lot.
Price Gouging... – The few times that I take my Cocker Spaniel in for a hair cut, it ends up being an $80 cut when their website says $43. They casually ask if you want their teeth brushed or an oatmeal bath. Those are EXTRA!!! At my other groomer, they are included in the initial fee. When your dog is dirty (from the dog park) they make it sound like they will turn you in to the SPCA for not taking care of your dog, and then lecture you on how to to be a good doggie parent.
I have also had to ask for them to cut her hair again, because they don't follow instructions. They will cut your dog's hair like THEY THINK it should be cut.
On top of this...they shaved my dog completely one day when I specifically asked for a "cocker cut". They told me there were too many mats in her hair when I brush my dog every day.
I am very unsatisfied and will not return. And you should find another groomer!!!
Worst dog grooming and service EVER – We specifically asked the groomers her if they knew how to groom a Kerry Blue Terrier and they said yes. So the first time we picked up our Kerry Blue, he looked like a schnauzer - shaved on top with a long skirt on bottom, and when they were asked to fix it they just completely shaved my poor puppy practically BALD!! So we decied to give them another try and explained to the groomer that he was not to be shaved but scissored and when we picked him up it was apparant that they just bathed him and brushed him, there was no grooming involved. Being nice, my husband wanted to give them one more try so we took him today, and the groomer even called me to tell me that my dogs coat was to matted to scissor so they were just going to have to shave him, we asked them to brush him out (duh) and so they said that would be an extra $10, we agreed to that and when my husband just went to pick him up - guess what . . . they shaved him anyway. Unfortunately he had already paid and he is too nice to cause a scene, but no wonder they are so easy to get appointments at - they have no idea what they are doing!!! And they do not listen and they are rude!! I do not recommend this place at ALL! Pappy's Pet Lodge in Plano does EXCELLENT grooming, so I guess it is worth the drive to save my poor puppy all this trauma!
