Good Food...but missing in other areas!

Pappadeaux is consistently good for food. Definitely a strong point. From appetizers to desert, I've never had a bad meal here. The seafood is your best bet. It can get really loud...especially on a Saturday evening. So be prepared.
However, the hostesses were disappointing. They advised us of a wait time of 45 minutes before our table will be ready. In the meantime, we head to the bar and order a couple of appetizers and drinks. About fifteen minutes later, its announced over the speaker that our table is ready. Great...we got a table earlier. I check in and advise her that our appetizers had arrived...and she advises us to go back to the bar and grab our appetizers & drinks and follow her to the table. I was absolutely floored! I am still amazed that she did not help (or get us assistance) from moving from the bar to the table. However, their we were....grabbing our own plates and drinks and weaving back & forth to our table.
Lastly, to cap off the evening. The valet lost our car. Unfortunately, when they parked the car, they did not mark it's location. 20 minutes...we got it back.
Pappadeaux is reliable and consistently good for seafood. Unfortunately, other service elements are lacking. Recommendation: MIXED BAG.
- Pros: Food
- Cons: Valet Service, Hostesses and Noise
Terrible Service

The two hostest stood talking to eachother for 5 minutes before acknowledging we were standinng there waiting to be greated. After we were finally set on the patio we were not greated by a waiter for another 10 minutes. At that point a waiter came out and said "Im sorry the patio is closed". It was only 9:00pm on a Thursday night and it was a beautiful night out. I know we are not in L.A. or NYC but come on this is in the heart of Dallas and to close the patio at 9:00pm is a joke. We were asked to move inside as if it was too much for the lazy waiter to walk through a door and journey another 3 feet to wait on our table. After we were asked to move inside the waiter just walked off and did not help us get another table. When I went back to the host stand the two dizzy teenagers showed no remorse for sitting us on the "closed patio" or for leaving us out there for 10 miuntes unattended. We turned around and walked right out the door and I will not return.
- Pros: Patio , large menu
- Cons: service , service , service , price
the BEST Pappadeaux I've been to
by alieaus at Citysearch
The best Pappadeaux we've been to, including all over this area and Albuquerque, NM. Each restaurant in this chain seems to have twists or fortes and this locale is hands-down the best with fish and seafood, a family favorite. When we get to town, we can count on the best crabcake this side of the "Ssippi" - no fillers here, just delectable tender lump crab and aromatics floating atop a pool of crawfish, capers, lemon, butter, and wine. Never a complaint and the service is cheerful and friendly - this restaurant is a well-maintained child-friendly and adult-pleasing chain.
- Pros: Food, Service, Child-Friendly
