What People Are Saying About Panda's Restaurant and Bar

In Short – Panda's may be older than most spackled-and-coiffed Oak Lawn, but it sure has a good plastic surgeon. Crimson tablecloths accent rows of gleaming blond wood tables, and the angled ceiling slats and a bevy of plants create a breezy feel. The relaxing effect is half-cabin, half-cafeteria--casting a warm, golden spell. Panda's serves both Hunan and Szechuan cuisine, and servers often query diners about their "moods" before recommending, say, roast pork or sizzling rice shrimp.
Editor's Tips
- Save Time:
- Don't bother for lunch--they aren't open.
- Save Money:
- If you're too hungry to wait in line, get delivery: Panda's reaches out to a five-mile radius. Make sure to ask if the free soup/egg roll coupon stands.
- Parking:
- If the streets get crowded, peek around back--Panda's has a lot.
- Know Before You Go:
- Panda's is open until 4am, perfect for the late-night munchies.

The food and the service is excellent. I had hot and sour soup and crispy chicken hunan style. Best of all the restaurant is clean, clean, clean......

I have food poisoning, and I got it from eating from this restaurant. That is all.
Worst Chinese food I have ever had

The inside of this restaraunt appears to be clean. The hostess was polite. After tasting the food, the aforementioned assets are meaningless.
I called in an order for pickup. I was told by a nice young lady it would be 10 minutes until the food was ready. Perfect!
I picked up the food and took it back to the office. The food was absolutely horrible. I'm not talking about wrinkle your nose and push through it bad. I'm talking about packing it up, getting in the car, and returning it, bad.
The crispy Scechuan Beef certainly lived up to its name. It's as crispy now as the day they made it. Last week, I would guess, judging by the smell. Of course, I shouldn't let the sense of smell take all the credit for the ensuing battle. All human senses were equally assaulted.
Seriously though, it was crispy enough that the meat broke apart like dried tinder. The fried rice was as satisfying as a hemorrhoid.
So, is this poor meal a one time deal? An isolated incident? I don't know. However, if allowing something like that out the door is an indication of their quality control, I'd rather just avoid finding out.
I've read the posts claiming "its food for drunks". I don't care if the food is for drunks, coke addicts, or the Taliban. Take some pride in what you serve. Drunk or not, they still paid good money for the food and Panda's management are the ones who choose to serve said drunks. Pandas has no room to complain about them.
love this place..

i live in the oaklawn area and worked in one of the neighborhood bars for 17 years . needless to say i spent alot of time and money at Panda's. i ate there late at night after work for years and the food was always delicious and fresh. the place does obviously cater to the club crowd and believe me that's not an easy job. they get their share of nasty drunks with even nastier attitudes . as far as delivery goes the story isn't much better. drunk people ordering food and then passing out or not having any money to pay . i also worked in the delivery business and believe me i wanted to lose my temper at some of the a**holes i delivered to . my point is that they are a good restaurant run by good people . if you want a 4 star eatery then look one up. but if you want some good food after a night of partying then this is the place.,,, by the way they are remoldeling right now so the bathrooms won't soon be an issue.
- Pros: good food .. delivers late... nice staff..
- Cons: bathrooms
Overall BAD!

When I used to live in Dallas, I used to eat at Panda's all the time. The food was great. I came into town this week (12/07/09) for a business trip and was staying close to Panda's. I ordered from Panda's two nights in a row. Both times the "hot & spicy" dishes tasted sweet, even though I asked them to make them EXTRA spicy. The second night Panda's charged me 25 cents for one pair of chopstick and 50 cents for extra chili oil. They did not do that the first night. Both nights my order was over $20. I didn't care about the charge for the sauce, but for CHOPTSTICKS! You are a CHINESE restaurant!!!! It would be like the Blackeyed Pea charging for forks and spoons. Come on! Nonetheless, the food quality had definitely gone downhill. Won't be eating at Panda's ever AGAIN!
- Pros: They Deliver
- Cons: Everything
