tasty food, but not much variety for vegetarians. The vegetarian menu items are sparse. They are basically limited to spinach or cheese enchiladas or cheese quesadillas.
Family-owned since Nixon took office, this restaurant dishes spicy salsa, innovative tacos and some of the juiciest fajitas in town..
The Scene
It's made of brick, not stucco, but Ojeda's building flaunts enough cast-iron on the windows and doors to create a traditional casa feel. Roomy booths and earthy colors on the walls invite patrons to relax a bit before digging in to their nachos.
The Food
Combo fajitas beg to be fah-eat-en, and they don't disappoint. Vibrantly flavored, juicy beef sizzles on both the platter and tongue. The homemade corn tortillas tease out a hint of lime. Ojeda's doesn't make diners wait for their next hit of salsa: the bottles are right on the table for pouring. (Note: This is SPICY stuff.) The queso smacks more of sour cream and peppers than cheese, so chicken flautas satisfy more as an appetizer. The carne asada ranchera boasts a velvety sauce that may be too heavy for some, but the brisket tacos offer a robust party in the mouth for those wanting spice and verve.
User review by kattmarie. The sizzling fajitas are the best as are the top-shelf margaritas
Best Mexican north of the border. As Mexican in my bloodline, I'm very critical of Mexican cuisine. I've tried most places in Dallas and OJeda's is the best hands-down. If you want real mexican food served my those who speak spanish (who are the only ones I feel can be trusted--unlike those who can barely say enchilada) go to Ojedas. Beware of the margaritas, they are sweet but with a kick. Best mexican food I've had outside of Mexico.
my favorite mexican food.
this one is better than any we've tried in Houston.
best salsa anywhere
cheese enchiladas are excellent
good chips (not greasy)
good guacamole
