The Scene – An unassuming facade hides a dark, wood-paneled, white tableclothed club for steak aficionados. Gilded mirrors, brass fixtures with frosted glass tulip shades, and cozy booths create Old-World charm matched by the warmth and professionalism of the staff. Televisions above the bar are tuned to sports adding to the vibe. – – The Food – The menu is a carnivorous feast interrupted only by salads, seafood and vegetable sides. Complimentary warm sourdough with salted butter and a jar of pickled red bell peppers and cucumbers prime the appetite. The lightly…

Worth a Steak Enthusiast trip!

by diningjunkie12 at Citysearch

Bob's has been through some owner changes but it's still Bob's.... dark, sort of mobster looking with an unassuming entrance with zero windows---were they in fear of a drive by? Or maybe fear of natural light?... or just want that typical dark, almost-need-a-flashlight-to-read-the-menu look? Anyway, the service is on par for a steakhouse and the steak is equally cooked right and juicy how most like it. I am just thrown off by the signature big orange carrot on every plate... what's up with that, doc? The carrot may be what is keeping some people returning, for me the carrot throws me off and bumps it down my steak house list a smidgeon, but only a smidgeon!

Amazing Steak House

by Deb Griffin at Citysearch

Bob's is a great place to go with family and friends to enjoy an exceptional meal with a wonderful atmosphere. I would recommend Bob's to anyone, not sure why anyone would have a negative review.

  • Pros: Everything is amazing from the appetizers to the desserts

Stay away!

by ckb03 at Citysearch

The food was terrible. My filet mignon was super fatty. My husband's strip wasn't great either. There are better steak places in Dallas for the same price or less. Hibiscus, Nick&Sam's and Kirby's are all SO MUCH BETTER!!!!

  • Cons: Terrible Food

Completely Confused

by motherfocus at Citysearch

I have been to many of the "best" steakhouses in the country and find that I am very pleased 95% of the time. Occasionally it's just a bad night or the food is not to my liking in general or maybe the atmosphere isn't what I expected. I see a LOT of negative reviews for Bob's, which confuses me. I dine at Bob's regularly because in my experience it is consistently the best steak I have found. The service is always pleasant and prompt. The atmosphere is a little over the top sometimes but you know that is possible when going to Bob's. I am referring to the Lemmon location of course. I can't imagine a reason I would ever go to Plano for a steak. Maybe it's just the culture that turn first time visitors off. Maybe it's expectations of a steak cooked at Outback. Maybe I've been lucky these past years. It is also a little confusing as to why someone would go to Bob's and order a ribeye? Who does that? Anyhow. Perfect steak all the time. I recommend Bob's

  • Pros: Fantastic steak

The best steak I have ever had!

by spartyhoustontx at Citysearch

Wow! I traveled on business recently to Dallas and went here with my sales rep. We were late for our reservation because of traffic, but they got us seated in about 15 minutes after missing the time. The wine list had anything and any price range you are looking for including high end Cognac and dessert wines.

We started with the jumbo shrimp cocktail and crabcakes appetizer. Delicious! I lived in Baltimore for a year, and this is very close to the taste of a Maryland style crab cake. The shrimp were huge.

I had the bone in ribeye, and it melted in my mouth it was so good. Who needs kobe beef when you can get an outstanding steak this tender and juicy. The service was excellent.

I will go back every time I visit Dallas!

  • Pros: The best steak in town.
  • Cons: Not cheap. Go to Saltgrass or Outback if $45 for a steak is too much.
