What a surprise!

My husband brought me to the Melrose Hotel in Dallas for my birthday weekend. What a nice time we had.
The atmosphere is great, the staff knowledgeable and warm and the amenities are great. I had the best time and felt like a princess all weekend long.
- Pros: great service, fitness room, amenities
- Cons: no pool

Small 5 Star Hotel.

Tired of "cookie cutter" hotels? Not the hip and trendy type? Stay at the Melrose and you will experiance the best service in town. My wife and I stayed there on our 10th anniversary and the Melrose staff made this event truely special. They even sent a personalised amenity to our room after the restaurant server noted the occasion. The doorman and front desk staff always greeted us by name, a rare treat in todays hotel enviroment. We enjoyed the daily lemonade in the lobby at checkin (watermelon), and all the personal touches. We had drinks at the Mansion on Turtle Creek (two blocks away) but enjoyed the Library Bars nightly live entertainment.We will be back....

Know Before You Go:
Southern-facing rooms have the best views, but are the noisiest because of the busy intersection of Oak Lawn and Cedar Springs. For optimum quiet, request a room in the northwest corner.
