The Scene – The brightly painted red walls and busy, colorful prints make patrons feel crowded but once the lights grow dim, soft jazz plays and wine takes hold, cramped seating seems almost cozy. Space is so limited the wine chiller is in the middle of the dining room. – – The Food – The chef's attention to detail shows in every dish on the inventive menu. Appetizers include the grilled quail, seasoned with delicate flavors of orange and cilantro, and the Kobe beef carpaccio accented with a savory mix of lime, parsley, shallots and avocado. For an entree, the pork rib…
Disappointed by the service we were underwhelmed by the food
by KADC
I read the reviews on the website and unfortunately for us, we could not eat the reviews. Not only were disappointed by the service we were underwhelmed by the food. I saw no evidence that anyone was managing the restaurant and my dining experience reflected it.
The waiter came to take our order his explanation of nightly specials consisted of, ?The specials are listed on the insert of the menu let me know if you have any questions.? He did not explain any menu items to our tables or highlight the nightly specials.
When our food came to our table we had to participate in a food auction. This is one of my LARGEST ANNOYANCES when dining at a restaurant; I defiantly don?t expect it when I spend over $60 for a meal.
I have to tell you that I had a better experience eating at Taco Join @ Ross and Peak last week. My food was fresh and hot, the service was outstanding and my bill for 2 was only $13. Needless to say, I won?t be back .
Treated like Royality

We made the pilgramage from Round Rock, TX to eat at Suze for some very important reasons. The staff was gracious and attentive. The food was exceptional. There is such an art to blending flavours and textures so that each bite is an amusment park in your mouth. Think of the scene in Ratoullie when the flavour of the food is animated with pops and stars of colours. This is what happens in your mouth with every bite. The portions were very generous. Save room for dessert! My eight year old loved her Angel Hair Pomadoro but exclamied " I will never order pasta again if there is lamb on the menu!" A simply magical perfect evening.
- Pros: Service, food the whole package
- Cons: small dining room( but is this really a con?)
Terrible food and slow service
by KristaKitt
I visited Suze for the first time this weekend. By the way Lisa Garza presents herself on The Next Food Network Star, I was positive the food and atmosphere of Suze would be sophisticated and elegant. We arrived early for our reservation hoping to grab a quick drink. We did not know they do not have a bar and in fact you can bring your own wine. Our reservation was for 8:15 and we were seated promptly at that time...along with just about every other table in the restaurant. Our server politely explained the specials and we ordered our appetizer. It arrived about 40 minutes later and the waiter never came over to check on us or let us know why it was taking so long. I had the fish special. When I tried to cut into it, I needed to use a knife because it was so tough. I realized it was not done...at all. It was completely raw. I told the waiter I didn't want anything else but he insisted on bringing the dish back. They brough another entree out with a considerably smaller piece of fish on the plate. He also brought out two desserts that were "on the house". They were very average...who wants black pepper ice cream? I would've rather he taken the fish off of the bill. Needless to say, I will not be returning to Suze. In a city like Dallas where there are many choices, restaurants only have one chance to make a positive impression.
- Pros: location, ambience
- Cons: bad food and service
