Wow! Talk about an incredible night....

Headed out with friends tonight and decided to visit Sambuca for cocktails before getting the party started. The bartenders were amazing! Delicious drinks coming from such welcoming staff made us decide to stay a little longer and grab some bites in the bar. Good choice! We sampled a few different appetizers with our cocktails (I would recommend the sea bass skewers or the goat cheese stuffed artichokes)... and then then band came on.... Wow!!! We ended up staying into the night dancing... Loved every minute! Drinks, dinner, dancing... no where else to go.

I don't know what to think

I've had two experiences with this restaurant. I went a few months back with a friend and had a great time. The drinks were good and service was good and the food was ok too. However this time around was a lot different. I was looking to celebrate my birthday with some friends and called to make a reservation for a group of 10. I spoke with host named Gabriel. I asked about a semi private area a friend told me about. I asked about the cost and availability. He said it was no cost but I had to have 8 or more people. I repeated that I had 10. He said in order to secure for a party that size I had to secure it via e-mail with my cc. I asked again was it available and he said yes. After some confusion I received the contract filled it out and sent it back immediately to hold the room (or so I thought). The contract stated that I would get email confirmation. I did not. The next day I called. Host said he received e mail but attachment I sent came back unfilled out. Anyway I resend AND fax info. I call back and he has received. I then ask about set up in semi private area in order to decorate. He said I didn't have that area but I would be in regular seating. What???!! Then he tells me that cc authorization only guarantied seating and private room would cost me $2000.00. WHAT?? Now I'm upset. I drive to restaurant to speak to management. While host is getting management I talk to a waiter. I ask him to show me the semi private areas and he takes me to 1 spot and very confidently says I could book thru catering w set menu or order $17 minimum per person from menu. Then Jamie in catering approaches me. I told her what I wanted and the many different stories I had been told. Jamie was cordial but cold. Said I could only get this semi private area thru catering at a minimum of $45 per person. And very dryly says " thanks for coming by, we'll see you tomorrow". I'm sooo confused and pissed at this point. I call my friend who referred me who also happens to be an event planner and has used the space she referred to me. She tells me there is more than 1 semi private area. SHE then calls Jamie and is treated very rudely and when she mentions this other semi private space Jamie says " it can't be reserved for a party that small" and then she says " it can be reserved for a small fee". My friend then asks "Well which one is it and why didn't you offer her the area". Jamie says "She didn't ask". My friend asks her for the number to corporate or an email and Jamie said they didn't give out that info. I called back and canceled my reservation since it was very apparent that for whatever reason they didn't want me or my friends there. I told the host Gabriel that very thing and he seemed more than happy to cancel. Again.. I don't know what to think.. But I will NEVER go back and will NOT recommend to anyone.

Great Service, Great Atmosphere, Great Time!!!

Being new to the Dallas area, I have been trying out the different restaurants the city has to offer. I came upon Sambuca Uptown just the other night. A girlfriend and I had an overall delightful evening. We started with a refreshing Martini called the Pomtini. If you try a Martini there, you must chose that one. Then we stayed for dinner. I was pleased with all the choices on the menu. Our waiter was attentive and very pleasant, and suggested I try their Champagne Chicken. I must admit, it was delish!!! As if the drinks and dinner weren't enough, they also had a live band playing. I can't wait to come back and experience this place again!

Great food, great band!

Loving Sambuca in uptown Dallas! My boyfriend and I went for a fun night out wanting a good meal and some dancing and we loved every second! We've been a couple times now and there is always a great band playing (I've experienced a dance band, acoustic rock, and alternative country--loved them all) and always have had a great meal. Great concept! I've also been to Sambuca's happy hours and got premium liquor HALF OFF! No brainer...I'll be back!

Sambuca Uptown a Night to Remember

Sambuca Uptown is a beautifu restaurant. I came through the front door and felt like I was on a runway walking up to the host stand. (It's very sexy) I went to the restroom and felt like I was an old Hollywood star. I made it to the table and was served a top notch meal and enjoyed great entertainment. I would recommend you try this place out. You will fall in love the way I did.
