Tips for Pet Love

rating. I'm surprised to read some negative comments here. I've used Pet Love for 7 years and found them to be very responsive to any needs i had and good with my dogs. I'll continue to recommend them.

I have put up with this grooming company for years only because my mini schnauzers were getting old and I was no longer able to take them in my car, as the oldest one was getting car sick. The owner Barb (FYI - Cannot be found on the internet), is heartless and she should not be running a grooming service, she should be running a collection agency. She is not a business woman and treats her customers beyond awful, as we all know. We hire the same kind of characteristics we hold. Therefore, her entire team is rude or maybe just miserable because they have to work for her. Last Friday was the it factor for me. She is greedy, so she books the groomer to a point he runs over an hour late. Her resolution was to stick my 13, 11 and 7 year old schnauzers in a very small confined van at the same time while they got groomed. Opposite of what the company websites states and why we have them come to our home in the first place - stress free environment. I refused to do this to my 13 year old dog, as she could have gone into cardiac arrest and when I called Barb she was extremely nasty over the phone. What Barb did not realize was that what she was trying to force me to do was and is ANIMAL CRUELTY in my book and many others. I agree with JL, this grooming service deserves 5 minus stars. There are many other groomers that will come to your home. Go into your browser and look up 'Thumbtack", groomers are all licensed, come to your home, they will love your pet and treat their customers with 100% respect and dignity, something Barb will never learn because you cannot teach an old dog new tricks.

Run the opposite way when you see the purple van, it's all a facade and your pet will end up dead.

I love Pet Love! Best of all so do the dogs, no stress, always on time or early, and I am no longer working around the drop off/pick up schedule of a traditional groomer. I have two large dogs so the "trip fee" is not an issue. My groomer is Josh, and he does great work.

Never Again!!. I will never use the groomer again. I was quoted one price over the phone but was charged something completely different after the fact. I felt like the guy who come to my house didn't even wash my dogs. He cut my BRT's beard and fall so crookedly, and said "someone's been cutting on her, I didn't do that." Bulls**t! No one ever cuts her beard that close to her face. Then he refused to dip the dogs because he was "allergic", so he just used flea shampoo, and apparently it's "just as good". Mind you, having them dipped was the whole reason I used them. Then when I called the main office to speak about this, I was told the prices I wrote down was MY misunderstanding! And groomer whatever-his-face has worked for their company so-and-so years and no one has ever complained about him. Again, more bulls**t. So I will chalk this up as a life lesson and never use or recommend this company again!! DON'T DO IT!!!

They do love pets at Pet Love!. Our two Yorkies are our babies...seriously. They are family to my husband and me, and we want only the best for them. Our boys have been treated very well during grooming, and when chatting with the groomer afterward, I have always gotten the feeling that they (we've had two groomers) are animal people, and really care about their work.

Having mobile grooming come to our home seems less nerve-racking for our boys, and easier for us as well. It takes less time, and your pets are able to come right back home as soon as they are groomed. No question it's expensive, but the prices aren't kept secret, and if you don't want to spend more, don't use the service.

All things considered, it's definitely worth it to our family, and I highly recommend Pet Love's grooming services.

Get it done right!. Such an efficient way to get a great grooming! I always hate dropping the dog off at different places . . . never know what kind of dogs there are. Pet Love has same reliable result!

The negative reviews have it. I had my dog groomed for the first and last time by Pet Love today. First I have to commend the phone service and fast response to the internet inquiries. They were open about prices and fees with me so I can't complain. It may be that the ones that love this service get groomers who maintain their vans and don't smoke.

I was surprised about was the $25 visit fee on top of the grooming fee. I have used mobile groomers in New England that were the same price. I have seen lower prices on everything here in TX except this. But I was still willing to pay for the convenience.

What made it an unsatisfactory experience was the van and the groomer. The van was old, dirty on the inside and stifling. I know that it is over 100 degrees outside but that is no excuse for a service van to be so hot. Now I understand why the groomer came into my house and said "Ahh, cool air."

I was shocked when the groomer came to my door with an extension cord. I have never been asked to provide the power to the van. While the groomer was certainly very nice and did a good job with the overall trim, she reeked of cigarettes and now my yorkie smells like a stale ashtray.

I paid my fee and gave the groomer a tip but I think we will stay with Pete & Mac's. Yes it is extra time for me but they obviously go the extra mile when pampering pets.

Beware of extra charges indeed!. I must say that I was completely shocked at the final total for this service as it was my original understanding based on the phone conversation with the person who booked the appt. and it was my understanding that it would be $79 including . When your groomer arrived he mentioned doing a "shed" treatment and I of course agreed as the dog is shedding and it would be appropriate. Never did he mention an additional charge for this. Once the service was complete I was presented with a bill in excess of $130. I told the groomer I was shocked a the price as this was not what I was quoted on the phone and even with his add on of the "shed" treatment it was almost a 50% increase in the price I paid. Clearer communication on the part of your appointment schedulers and your groomers is imperative.

While the grooming itself was OK the excessive fees were ridiculous.

As a small business owner myself if I ran my company this way, I'd be out of business for a poor reputation and substandard customer service. I should have heeded the reviews I read online while waiting to book the appt. but was assured by the phone rep that they were "old" reviews. Not true.

Beware of extra charges. The groomer was nice enough and seemed to do a decent job on the dogs... and then I found out the total price. The lady I spoke to on the phone to make the appointment was very friendly, which encouraged me about using this service. I was informed that there is a cost of $25 for the trip fee. She quoted me the prices of $64 for the Bath and Brush, $74 for Deluxe Style, and $89 for the Luxury Spa Package. I chose the $89 package.

These are the charges I was NOT informed of.... Turns out they charge extra for dogs over a certain weight (my two dogs are about 80 lbs each). They also charge you for fuel cost and then of course tax.

Like I mentioned before, the groomer was nice enough but whoever it was he was talking to to sort out the charges was incredibly rude -- very poor customer service! I could hear the ENTIRE conversation he was having with her because he was using a push-to-talk phone like a walkie talkie. When the groomer told the admin lady that I told him I was not informed of the extra weight charge, she scoffed, "Yeah, she was." This is AFTER she looked up the notes of my appointment and told him I was quoted the $89 per dog exactly as I said. And was she there during my conversation with a totally different person with whom I made my appointment? If they had recorded my conversation with the lady I made the appt with, I would have welcomed her to play it.

It gets better. When she realized I could hear everything she was saying, she started speaking to the groomer in Spanish! How obvious! And how rude!!!

At least the groomer apologized after the number crunching and he actually admitted to me that more often times than not, most customers are surprised to find out about these extra charges because it is apparently very common that they are not informed about them.

I guess the grooming service itself is fine, just make sure they tell you about all the charges. Hopefully this helps you.

Very Convenient....less stress for me and the dogs!!. I love this service. It is very convenient because I don't have to load up the dogs and take them to the groomer. They come right to your door. Scheduling is always easy, they are usually lots of available times and days. The dogs always look and smell great!
