A great destination for lunch, dinner or drinks, The Wild Turkey offers good times, good people, and great fun. The sports bar is a perfect place to experience college or NFL football games, all baseball playoff match-ups and to root on the local teams Dallas Stars and the Dallas Mavericks. If you prefer to be a bit more active, there are pool tables and golf games available for play. Take your drink out on the patio and enjoy the fresh air or sit in the dining room. Why choose between a casual dining atmosphere and a sports bar when The Wild Turkey offers both?

In Short – Built like a log cabin, the walls are wooden inside and out. The two main rooms offer a choice in atmosphere: quieter dining room or sports bar with large and small televisions, and Golden Tee and other video games around pool tables. The long bar displays oysters and shrimp on ice at one end; beer taps at the other. Hamburgers and seafood choices highlight the menu, along with salads, appetizers and Tex-Mex dishes.

Editor's Tips

Happy Hour:
Running from 3pm to 8pm daily, get $2 pints of domestic beer or pitchers for $7.50, special prices on Jack Daniel's and Smirnoff and free chips and salsa.
Save Money:
Take advantage of daily drink and menu specials--prices are about half off of selected items. Signs are posted on the menus and walls.
Where to Sit:
Head out to the patio where misters keep the area cool on hot days, and heaters keep it warm in the cold.

Some of the worst service I've had anywhere

by pckizer at Citysearch

We walked in with four people and were greeted immediately. While confirming with the bar-tender that we had a party of four, one of the waitstaff was already coming over and showed us immediately to a table a mere 6-8 paces from the cash register and storage area being used by multiple of the waitstaff.

After leaving us with the menus, we decided on beverages and then finished deciding on the various food we wanted as well. After about 5 minutes we had seen the waitstaff pass by numerous times to and from the register and closet. We tried eye contact, waiving them down, eventually combined with verbal hailing ("Excuse me, ma'am" or "sir" as appropriate), etc, and at 10 minutes made sure the menus were all stacked together in a highly visible corner of the table. We set a timer for 5 more minutes and continued to try to get someone to even come talk to us but they would not come any nearer even when just standing talking/laughing among themselves at the register appearing to be otherwise unoccupied.

When we hit 15 minutes of being seated with no drinks and not even a second visit by the waitstaff we all stood up, and the waitstaff just stood there and even smiled and waved as we passed by to leave the building.

The veneer of pleasantness seems to be only thinly covering some deeper unfriendliness and this establishment seems to definitely not be concerned at all about serving unfamiliar faces. We did observe that the regulars seemed to get a fair bit of interaction with the waitstaff as they would go from the register area to talk with them when they waved them over.

If you're not already a regular, probably not worth your time and effort even stopping in.

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!

by Texan Pride at Citysearch

I visited The Wild Turkey on Walnut Hill in Dallas, TX Friday, 08/19/11.

It was the worst experience ever!! Our order was taken, and that was it. We never got our food nor did the server come by to check on us. I had to get up several times and ask how long it would be and the answer I kept getting is we'll get your server. The server walked by several times and I would stop her to ask about our order and she'd reply let me check...asked to speak to the manager and his excuse was we are short staffed today. Sir, you are running a food establishement and should be properly prepared for situations such as this. All we ordered was a cup of soup and half a sandwich! Wow. Worst place and service ever. I do not recommend this place to anyone. THe service was horrible, the waitstaff needs to update their trashy look and the manager needs people skill so that he can pass them on the the staff! Save your time and money and go somewhere else!!!

AWFUL PLACE

by Isamaples1 at Citysearch

My family and I went to visit the stupid place last night and it was the most awful place I have ever been to. The owner Rolando Rosales was the biggest looser ever. We felt as if we were being interagated by Customes/INS. The staff was just as bad. We didnt do anything wrong we were there to eat drink and watch the Mavs play and have fun and spend some money but instead we were humiliated and embarrased. I cannot believe that we have such ungrateful people in our society especially doing business with the public in such manner. It is very sad that he alone along with his brother Raynaldo Rosales are hispanics. He for some reason wanted to see all sorts of identification and for what reason I have no clue when it was already given to our waitress. We were to celebrate a birthday party no to give problems. I nor my family and friends will never go back to this place and I will spread the word around.
